My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Toledo Rockets
I'd only trade Floyd for a good catcher and another starter.

please explain to me what fowler and stewart do for the sox?

Stewarts a solid bat and glove with potential, at only 25. Same with Fowler. You get younger, cheaper, and more potential out of the deal. Why wouldn't you do this deal? Seems like you're overrating Floyd quite a bit here. He's nothing more than a just solid pitcher who wouldn't get much more than two solid players in Fowler and Stewart in return. This team would most likely be better off for the future with Stewart and Fowler on this team than Floyd. Just for the hell of it, here are the Bill James projections for the three players:

Fowler: .285/.373/.437 32 2B 12 3B 7 HR 46 RBI 88 R 18 SB
Stewart: .260/.342/.478 30 2B 4 3B 26 HR 86 RBI 84 R 7 SB

Floyd: 9-11 4.42 ERA/4.40 FIP 179 IP 186 H 22 HR 66 BB 136 K

ok, why not contact the Northsiders and offer Floyd for Soto? If the Cubs want, they can toss us Fukudome to get his numbers off of the books and give us a quality RF (defensively).

Hence the "Just for the hell of it" part, but you wouldn't know that because you make dumbass assumptions.

Look at the big picture. Like you said ian stewart has potential, again potential...in a position where we have enough guys with potential. what does fowler do for you, seem like a guy to me.

it isnt overrating floyd, i just wouldnt trade him for another 3bmn with "potential" and a guy when the rotation isnt secure at this point. take floyd out of the rotation and you have:

danks
buehrle
jackson
------
------

who is 4 and 5? peavy obviously cannot be depended on.

Danks, Buehrle, Jackson, Peavy, Sale. Peavy is most likely going to miss the first few weeks of the season but should be back by the latest, mid May or so. We're not contending, we don't need an all-star rotation all year long. And who do we have that is blocking someone whose already had success in the majors? Viciedo? :lmao:

if you are looking at "potential" you have viciedo with "potential" and you have morel with "potential"

Chris Sale will probably go into the rotation, yes. but as I and majority of others here have said, that would be the worst move, putting him into the rotation.

as for peavy, sure he may comeback in may, no one has had this surgery before, so i do not rely on him.

Getting to the thread topic, I highly doubt they have interest in Floyd anymore. I think if they want another starter they will go the cheap vet signing route.

Alright, but again, we're not contending so this doesn't matter as much.

Viciedo is not going to be at 3B for long and Morel looks to be an average 3B. Gimme Stewart, kthxbi.
