After watching it again, part of me thinks the other Wirtz was given the memo and Rocky shut it down.

There has to be something behind it. I don’t believe for one second their PR didn’t prep them for a Beach question.

Between kissing Eddie Dohs ass and this, it was a train wreck. I highly doubt you see another town hall thingy any time in the near future.

I cannot think they thought this would be a good idea. The team is a joke, the rape, the horrible look this franchise has right now. It was destined to fail.

They had a town hall many years ago, that Bill blew off, but Peter to his credit attended, moderated by Mike North....it went badly, I was there, and the mood was frustration bordering on hostility...one guy was so dissatisfied with the answers coming from the stage that he ran down to the front of the audience, took off his Hawks jersey, threw it at the head table and stormed out...maybe the town hall format isn't the Hawks thing...

It wouldn't be too hard to bully the Chicago Blackhawks organization right now into a name change.

Used to be, you needed people to physically show up and protest shit to get change, but now enough likes and shares on the Twitter'll do it.

That’s 100% true, but it’s going to take native Americans picketing every single game for Rocky to change his stripes.

I hate to say it, but the logo is grandfathered since they display it with pride. “Redskins” is a slur, the Indians mascot was a caricature. Even in the Dollar Bill days they have done nothing to disrespect or demean Blackhawk or his tribe.

In this day and age of cancel culture if you don’t have a plan B,C,D for every reaction you are living in the 80’s.

If some video game streamer can eek out a decent apology for saying a slur while playing Grand Theft Auto online, it behooves me Rocky would pull his pants down in public like this.

Maybe Beach actually got a shit load of money out the guy instead of the one million that’s been floating around. Maybe the other victim got the same amount and it’s a touchy subject?

I cannot comprehend what they thought the Townhall format afforded them, especially if they did not want to talk about the Kyle Beach incident.

Were they hoping Rocky would make an empathetic connection to, the media, in an open back-and-forth dialogue (reporters without question limits?) which was meant to be purely about the leadership search?

Lazarus was just on AM 1000... He said he spoke to Danny afterward, and Danny said he wanted to answer that question, was prepared for it, and that a big part of the event's purpose was to answer that question, and he wasn't sure why his dad stepped in...Lazerus also said he thought the question was a softball, and that Rocky "stepped on the pitch and broke his ankle in three places" with that answer.
