Guys, we're talking about a PRO-ATHLETE, not KaDeem Carey or Kevin White or Chase Claypool.

I'm skeptical of this explanation, but I'm not the one watching all the tape.

Yeah, I think it's fair to say that there is an element of subjectivity going on as it appears to be that particular evaluator's take on if the receiver got open or open enough to count it as a 'success' or not.

My only thing here is if these were completed passing that went for x-number of yards, I'm all for them. What we don't know is if he's running a dig route, but is he the #1 target on the play? Maybe that scenario doesn't even matter, and I'm just being too much of a goof about it.

EDIT: I just think far too often, and I'm just as guilty about this as anyone, we give too much credence to analytics in a sport where there are too many variables on each play.

I don't disagree. I think there are a lot of 'made up' stats that get treated as hard evidence but are subjective enough that there can be wide variations depending on who did the film evaluation and assigned the score.

Especially during a game, analytics are a good tool, but it isn't Madden and coaches and players can and should have a feel for the game and the game situations that should override a pure analytics call.

It's more egregious with offensive line metrics, IMO. At least with every other offensive position you have a better idea on things. **** if I ever know how a team changes blocking schemes mid-game.

According to Wiederer in his Tribune article yesterday, Odunze was the number one receiver on the Bears’ draft board and the number two overall prospect.

Is there a franchise worse than the Bears at drafting and developing WRs?

Every regime is different. Ryan Poles and Ian Cunningham have nothing to do with the past.

The current coaching staff wasn’t here in the past.

That might be one of the dumbest arguments you could make.
