Rose needs to grow some balls and take a charge.

We need to hire Mike Sweetney, and get him to run towards Rose, to teach him to not be afraid to take a charge. Way too many times I've seen Rose wimp out and squirm and shuffle away from the contact when clearly being in a position to take a charge.

Looks like someone is cranky and needs a reminder that Rose was a rookie. He'll get stronger this off season and he'll learn how to take charges with time. "Way too many times", come on. Your just mad we did not win. I like to see you take one of those charges!! LOL

Brandon Bass? listen to what you people are saying. Are you kidding me. Unless you get a superstar you will be sorry for trading Tyrus. I'm like Fred defending BG, I give up, I'm not gonna bring up the numbers between Bass and Tyrus. IF YOU DON'T BRING IN A SUPERSTAR THERE IS NO ONE BETTER THAN TYRUS, YOU PEOPLE ARE OUT OF YOUR MINDS. HE IS A GREAT SHOT BLOCKER AND IS THE, THE THE BEST ATHLETE AT THE PF POSITION. Not to mention he is like a Thabeet in regards to him not playing organized ball for that long. Imagine if BG or Derrick hadn't played until their sophmore or junior year in high school. Even if he has played all his life, he would be a senior in colllege this year. Big Baby, Brandon Bass are older than him. IF YOU TRADE TYRUS FOR ANYTHING BUT A SUPERSTAR WE WILL BE SORRY. Oh and we wouldn't want Tyson this year? We traded Tyson for P.J. Brown and J.R. Smith, that was terrible, I would've kept anyone for that trade please. DON"T TRADE TYRUS!!!!

I don't think anyone is saying trade Tyrus and bring Bass in. We're just saying that right now ALL we got at PF is Tyrus and we need to add someone there which bass could help us.

You do understand you need depth in the NBA and Tyrus can play all 48 minutes right?

You say you don't wanna compare the numbers let's do.

Bass didn't play his 1st two years and Thomas didn't his 1st so lets look at the past two seasons

last year in 18mins Tyrus scored 6.8pts 4.6rebs and shot 42% with 1 blk
bass in 19.7minutes scored 8.3pts 4.4rebs on 49% shooting

This year Tyrus in 27mins scores 10/8pts 6.4rebs on 45% shooting with 1.9blks

Bass in 19.4mins (8 less than Tyrus) scored 8.5pts 4.5rebs on 49% shooting

It looks like Bass is a pretty productive player that is 250lbs so gives us the much needed size and he and Tyrus can man the PF spot for us

Edit: Bass just turned 24 in April so he's still pretty young

sure if you wanna bring in Bass OFF THE BENCH tha is fine. Someone said sign him and bring Tyrus off the bench That is crazy, he is one of the best at 2 different things. Blocks and dunks, Tyrus will be in the top 3 in blocks next year if he gets playing time. He can't be that bad at defense. And these people wanna say that all his blocks go to the other team that is crazy, ok just let them get the layup. How come you don't blame team hustle on getting those loose balls? You don't know what Bass would do with extended minutes. He would add muscle which would be fine, but he is no where near the player that Tyrus is, you are crazy if you think so. I'd take Ryan Hollins over Bass.

Ben Gordon is gone forever friend...

That doesn't mean he won't be at the Berto. It's the only NBA training facility he can workout in this summer until he signs a new contract. I think there is a good chance Ben takes advantage of the free gym, rather than paying to go to one. He did it last summer, and I wouldn't be shocked if he does it again this summer, at least until he signs, and if he signs with another team, obviously he'd stop working out at the Berto.

Taking charges isn't about being stronger, well it is but it isn't like he isn't big already. The biggest thing is anticipation, and just having the guts to take a charge.

To be honest, I'm not overly bitter about us losing the series against the Celtics as I didn't have any expectations going in. And I even understand that being a rookie he is going to struggle on the defensive end. But Rose throughout the season, and even more magnified during the playoffs was his refusal to give hard fouls, or to take charges when he was clearly in position to take on.

Yes, way too many times has Rose been in a position to give a hard foul but he'd just lazily put his hand up to foul and allowed opposing players to continue with their shots. Yes, way too many times has he been in position to take a charge and went through the motions of acting like he'd take a charge and casually shuffle or lean away when the contact would get closer. That's just unacceptable if you want to be a good defensive player, and a leader on a team.

He has exceeded my expectations as a rookie, but for the most part he is a soft player.

I don't remember the last time he has worked out in Chicago in the off season, and I don't see it happening this off season either.

You let them compete for the job and if Bass is better he starts. I'm not going to get too much into it because Tyrus is a Bull and I love all Bull players but the blocks and dunks are nice but I would take 0 blocks if it meant he would rebound better and box he man out. He still needs to learn a lot

Tyrus has a lot to learn and he isn't a 30+ minute player yet more 25 minutes. Hollins is the same thin frame as Noah and Tyrus and that's not what we need. We need a big physical guy

Yes there is no reason for anyone to hate Thomas, bring some stats not just he doesn't hustle, what are you talking about. Read Dwyer's article, who cares if he takes plays off, he has talent you have to change and adapt to him not bench him. Tyrus is fine, let him grow.

The entire team does not play great defensively and takes crazy shots, stop singling out Tyrus.

So have the Bulls gone so long without a shotblocker that we don't really care about blocks? Blocks are important, very important. He can't box out because he is skinny, if he bulks up he can box out and he is improving why would you think he can't get better, he is only in his 3rd year.

He worked out in Chicago in the Berto Center last summer, and every summer he's been with the Bulls.

We lost the series on 2nd chance points. We like blocks but but there's more important things.

For example you don't leave Brian Scalbriene open for threes. There was a couple of times a player will drive and Tyrus reaction was to help leaving a shooting open. He needs to learn that every player is different and you just can't leave anyone open for a jumper.

Boxing out is important and it doesn't matter if he's skinny if he can't box out he can't play 30 + minutes and we need to get players to help fill that void

I like what Tyrus brings but I also realize he lacks a lot of major things that hurt us and we need to add depth.

I think Bass brings what Tyrus lacks and would make Tyrus better because we could use Tyrus for his strengths more. I think Tyrus can start but I see him as a 25 minute a night player. At least for now

With that said I hope Tyrus works his butt off so he can be more than that.

Yah but what about a big lineup? If we lost the series on 2nd chance points why didn't we put Tyrus at the 3 sometimes. Did you see him defend Pierce, one time he took the ball and went down the court, got an assist. Why couldn't we try it? In my book if my team is getting outrebounded and I have a talent like Tyrus I'll try multiple things.

Bringing in Bass would be ok but that is not gonna solve anything. I would prefer a verteran like Reggie Evans or Nene, not another young guy who is not batter than Tyrus just bigger, that won't help.

You put Tyrus at the 3 and now all Boston does is trap Rose and Gordon and says let Noah and Tyrus beat us which won't happen. Tyrus doesn't have the shooting needed to play the three

Having Deng back will help us. Deng is a excellent rebounder but we still need to add depth at the PF spot

Nene is too much money and is injury prone and Evans isn't better overall than Bass. Bass isn't a stud rebounder but his size will help not getting pushed around. He also brings us a little offense which is why I like him.

Well also Denver won't give up Nene but that type of player, I don't know what Bass has proved over Evans but you may be right, I would just trust a veteran more.

On Tyrus not spreading the floor enough huh? You just said that rebounding killed us now your saying that trapping Rose and Gordon would kill us more? They were trapping them anyway, plus we don't know if you are right because they didn't even try. Why wouldn't you try it?

Plus Tyrus has a very capable 18 to 20 footer with no dribbling, that is enough so they can't just leave him.

I mean do we wanna make the Chandler thing again? We didn't get anything for him. (chandler is not a great player by any means) but I would love to have Chandler right now since we don't have anything to show for him. I know he is not great but I can pretty much guarantee that Tyrus will be better than Bass.
