Well, the turd sandwich we're being forced to eat can't possibly get any worse. Rose, Deng, Hamilton... Shit, just sit everyone!

I'm still not worried about us missing the postseason. What does worry me is the lack of continuity we'll have going into it. We've got some dangerous competition that's proven to be hungry. The Pacers still have nearly $15 million in cap space, so they definitely have the ability to facilitate a trade or two to add depth. The road to the ECF won't be nearly as easy as it was last year.

well in the article it didn't really say he's "likely out for a while." Rose just said he'll take his time if he needs to. So he could miss a few days, he could miss a few weeks. Still unknown at this point.

I'd like it if he took some time off though.

Well that is what 2 of the Bulls beat writers told me in person, so I am sticking to it. Wish it wasn't true but it sounds like it is. Awhile could mean a few weeks to a month.

:rolling:

Yet it doesn't make a story anywhere.

Calling bullshit on it.

Rose himself said the last time it happened he took a few days off, woke up and was fine.

Friedell and Johnson, I know both, I am around them a lot. I frequently meet them out for drinks. Again, this is bar talk, from what they told me. They said he is moving around terrible and their feeling is it will be "awhile". Again, is that a week, a few weeks, your guess is as good as mine. I wasn't the one who said it, just passing the information along. Do what you want with it, I always take it with a grain of salt. The only TRUE person who know is Rose.
Just out of curiosity, what would the two of them say about you starting threads on a public message board and then attaching it to their names?

Thats a good point, maybe I should edit lol. But I am pretty sure everything they have told me is already public knowledge from their articles and twitter.

Point of this was to discuss his back problem. It seems you guys think he will only be out a few days? If he is seeing a specialist that is a major problem! No?

No, it means he is seeing somebody who specializes in a problem he is having. Somebody who could possibly see something that the team docs are not. That doesn't mean it's worse.

I am with you, I certainly hope not! Like Rose said, in highschool this happend and after a few days rest he was fine, just like that. Could this possibly be a pinched nerve? Anyone ever had a serious back injury?

If it's a herniated disc..he's fucked.

If it's muscular.............could go alot of different ways.

So herniated discs are a major problem then? Can rehab help with this, or is it more of a surgery type of thing? I am assuming the pain is pretty bad with all of the above!

He needs to sit out. A back injury is not something to try to play through. And while they mmay not be the same team, they have the depth

Yes.

Depends..

A parent of a kid on my basketball team just had surgery this past week. He's got 4-6 weeks recovery time. It was in hi sneck and they had to go in through the front of his throat area, push his trachea, etc to the side and take out the disc.

Insane stuff.

Severe ones=surgery

Minor ones=rehab/rest

Larry Bird ignored his back problems, and they built up quite a bit. He eventually slipped a nerve out of place. So whatever happens, I hope Derrick gets an accurate diagnosis and it's treatable.

my friends got a herniated disc in his lower back and it doesn't bother him at all.. or not much. His doctors told him he doesn't need to do anything and to come back if he starts to feel pain or numbness in his legs. That was a couple of years ago and he's been the same. So it depends on how bad it is and it's different for everyone.
