Bears have Swift and Johnson. Khalil Herbert is a good player at a who gives a **** position. The Bengals have a disgruntled edge rusher threatening to retire on them who just had 17.5 sacks. Is this the year Poles goes all in and pushes some dead money on to the books to sign Hendrickson?

I have no idea. Herbert and a third probably gets it done though, imo. If it's just Herbert for draft capital give them one of the Bears 6ths and recoup that 4th from the Booker trade up. Either way, it certainly makes you think.

Other than his excellent shoopster sobriquet (Khalil (S)herbert), there's really nothing holding him here . . .

Fantastic work as ever.

I like his burst and am glad he is a Bear. I think I would rather have the one-two punch of him with Swift, and let him enter free agency next year. Let him add to the pool that generates comp picks.

I would be all over Herbert+6th for a 4th if Bengals would even be willing to do that in the first place. Frankly speaking Herbert is no longer stylistically the type of back this team wants - the Bears are building a pass first O built around an incredibly talented young QB and they need running backs that are either receiving threats out of the backfield OR motioned outwide or into the slot - or guys that can pass block. Going forward the Bears arent super interested in a guy like Herbert that is a good rusher but isnt a plus pass blocker and his route tree is basically limited to an HB screen or flare out of the backfield. If Bears can recoup value from him then DO EET.

Uh... Is his trade value higher than Fields'? Asking for a friend.

At this point, old trade him for Sam Hubbard or Myles Murphy from them instead of Trey, for Herbert.
