What can one say about Ryan Pace? As Georges St. Pierre once said to Matt Hughes, "I am not impressed by your performance."

Hughes beat GSP in their first fight, the other 2.....not so much.

Still don't understand how a rebuild works...SMDH

When will we know that this rebuild is over or is a rebuild never over meaning every team is rebuilding? Fuller, Long, Bellamy, and McManis are the only ones remaining from Emery and Pace wants them all. Therefore, the entire roster is Pace's and has been since last year. Is there an official year in the GM's tenure where said rebuild is considered done? Is it if/when a team hits .500? Is it if/when a team makes the playoffs or wins the Super Bowl?

For me the rebuild began when we drafted a QB. The rest before that was getting the team younger and the org in a good cap/contract space. I also look at it like right now this is (Vet Paces team) Players and staff. Last few years were (rookie Pace with interference) years. Pace started the real rebuild last year. Time is now to start seeing the results. I was no fan of rookie (Pace) but I am a fan of (vet Pace).

You need to raise your standards and expect excellence from the Bears

Me not calling Pace an idiot everyday doesnt equate to not wanting excellence

I know this is a troll thread but I can't help myself. I think Pace has done a pretty good job. I'd give him a solid 'B+' at this point.

Let's be honest, he inherited an absolute train wreck from the Emery/Trestman era. The roster was old, we didn't have a QB etc... it was a total rebuild from the ground up. To be honest, we were fortunate Pace wanted to step into this cluster. With just three full seasons under his belt he's managed to acquire the talent to convert to a 3-4 defense that is top 10 in the league. He landed what most of us believe to be a franchise QB. He landed a top-tier head coach and what I believe was absolute brilliance, was able to retain Fangio.

Did he miss on White? Absolutely, but 1st rounders do bust. Has he been super successful in free agency prior to this offseason? Not really, but premier free agents were't exactly clamoring to join a basement dwelling team. We heard numerous stories about the bears losing out to free agents even when they offered better money. The last thing you want is your GM to get too desperate and start offering crazy money... which he didn't. He was patient, the guys he did sign were cap-friendly, short term deals that didn't tie our hands for the future.

With the arrow pointing up for this team he has been able to go out and land a top tier free agent and head coach. Last years draft was super successful. I hope ownership is smart enough to realize what they have in Pace. Building a team that is consistently in playoff contention takes time, patience and a little but of luck.

That's YOUR opinion. My opinion is that you are a blind homer and a troll.

3 years ago we were one of the worst teams. 3 years later we are one of the worst teams.

Pace's drafts are sketchy, his free agent pick ups blow.....but you try to make him sound like he's Belicheck

Get out of my thread, trollboy

The team is on the cusp of legitimately competing. I honestly don't give a fuck about what happened in the past. If Trubisky works out and the team competes, none of what happened will matter.

Just curious in this regard too - what does "legitimately competing" mean? Competing to get to .500, make the playoffs, win a Super Bowl? It goes in line with my question as to when a rebuild is done. I'm assuming people have some context when they fling phrases.

We really have no idea what they are this year. This is easily the most profound change in Bears' teams since Pace took over.

You won't allow me to make a projection, then you make your own projection. Guess your projections are valid and mine arent? LOLOLOLOLOLOLO

What projection did I make?

I typed two sentences. First, we have no idea what they are this year. That's the opposite of a projection, so you must mean ....

"This is easily the most profound change in Bears' teams since Pace took over" is a projection. It isn't. It's an undisputable observation. New HC, entire new offensive philosophy. These two things along are a bigger change from any year-to-year changes during the Fox era.

So wtf are you talking about?

I see it as a projection. Many dont agree with your notion of him making a "profound change". It will only be profound if it plays out, otherwise it's a projection.

You're mistaking what I'm saying for "most improved". I didn't say they'll be better, I said they'll be different. There were no changes from 2015-16 or 2016-17 that were anywhere near as significant as a new coach and entire offensive philosophy.

Whether the profound changes will result in more wins is what we don't know yet. Hence my comment that we have no idea what they are this year.

Oh really, 90% of the morons here think Pace is doing a great job. This is why we have the worst fans in the NFL

I see people say crap like this all the time and it always irks me. There are people from every fan base who think this about their team's fandom. This is a subjective opinion, can't be proven, and has no basis in fact. People are people, so why would a particular, collective group be better or worse than some other group simply by virtue of the team they root for? Asinine.
