We really have no idea what they are this year. This is easily the most profound change in Bears' teams since Pace took over.

I don't understand why more people don't realize this. The Bears have assembled the best offensive coaching staff since maybe ever. They still have Fangio's top 10 defense, and who knows how much better they can be if healthy?

When has the Bears had a good offense as well as good defense? Probably not since 1985. That alone should bring some excitement for this year! Pace finally was able to hire his OWN HC this year. Blaming Pace for Fox and Loggins is moronic.

The Pace haters, imo, really show who the trolls are, and their lack of any real common football sense.

That is a bold statement and totally unknowable right now.

You need to raise your standards and expect excellence from the Bears

Based on what - history? (LOL) Ownership ? (LOL)

That's like expecting excellence from the Bulls pre or post MJ, there is no basis for such expectations other than fandom.

Maybe, but I'm sticking to it. When was the last time the Bears had a "cutting edge" offense? Probably never. And yes, while we don't know exactly what the offense will bring, the Bears have assembled a pretty good staff and had a good start at adding weapons on offense.

Personally, I think Bears fans are going to be shocked when they see our new offense develop this year. And I am, and always will be, a "defense wins Championships" type of guy.

favorite poster of the majority of the members at the CBMB.

Learn it, live it, love it

Da hell you talkin' about, Eggpants? the shoopster won CBMB Poster of the Year in 2003 and was on a way to an unprecedented repeat win in 2004 when the voting was rocked by scandal as the leader of The Soldiers - a mouse of a man named mouse - tried to change voting rules prohibiting repeat winners. When mouse then goaded his brethren in The Soldiers to vote for him instead of the then-runaway leader the shoopster and eventually won the 2004 award following his earlier 2002 victory, he attempted to claim his rules revision specified no consecutive - not repeat - winners ... The resultant scandal culminated with the shoopster putting mouse on trial live in the "Fans First, Live It" forum, during which mouse cracked under questioning and admitted his fraud ... The Soldiers would disband in shame at the hands of the shoopster within days ... Only one poster has ever won consecutive POY awards - the shoopster. He remains the standard bearer for CBMB, not some crotchety old bastard ruined by watching the bunch of bums currently calling themselves Chicago Bears for the last 50 years . . .

What was the story with Ole69? I remember him being well loved with thoughtful posts and never got his rocks off by putting down everyone else on the board. Dude only talked football and was actually very knowledgable, unlike the cracked egg. Having the most birthdays doesn't equal wisdom.

It's a sad story. Guy got himself a bad case of shoopster-on-the-brain. Stopped talking football and just talked shoopster. Tried everything he could to get shoopster run off the chicitysports.com forii (pl: forum) but obviously couldn't do it. Got himself banned by the powers that be instead. Today, he shows up every once in a while with inane put downs and seventh-grade homo humor on #VOTB.

Like I said, it's a sad story . . .

Those out on Pace will look extremely stupid once Trubisky takes off in the next two years. So much of a team's success is dependent on the QB position and GM's live and die by their performance.

Pace has his QB, which now has a year of experience under his belt, gave him a new offensive minded coach, a new higly paid WR, plenty of other receiving additions (Gabriel, Burton, Fowler Brown) with probably more help on the way.

Far from accurate.

It would be great if it did work out that way, but as I said to Ommy, when I say it's the most profound change since Pace arrived, I'm in no way projecting how good they'll be, merely that this is the most the team has changed in an offseason in the Pace era.

We all hope so, but that's pure speculation at this point.

And no we do not have Fangio's top 10 defense.... that was last year. We shall see what happens this year.

fucking idiot?

When are you morons going to realize that Pace is a fucking idiot?

Ask yourself are we any further in turning this shit around in the 3 years he has been here? While you think we have gotten better other teams have also and still we are among the worst in the NFL.

So, he will be fired in 2 more years which means 5 years of your life has been wasted, then get ready for another rebuild that will take 5 years.

Stop hoping for incremental improvements and demand excellence, which is something we havent had around here

Ommy, comon man. Yes this team is better than it was when he started. Plus you almost contradict yourself in your own post. He's on year 3. You basically allude that 'the next rebuild' will take 5 years. So its not fair to throw in the towel on him yet, (on year 3) especially given the giant turd of a team he took over.

Yea he has not ace'd his first 3 years, that's for sure. One could say he is learning on the job. The FA acquisitions, the Trubs trade up, some of his cuts...yea its not been perfect. But the team and organization overall is trending up.

That said, This IS THE YEAR where this team has to return to contention. Trubisky must take big steps forward and begin to solidify himself as the long term future at QB. They must at least be in the hunt for the division and or playoff birth. If not the slider on Pace drops to the red (and getting dangerously close to idiot -failure level) ... and its desperation mode once again.

All of us are expecting an NFL style offense. If it doesn't happen, this team and concept will be a fucking disaster.

Which is why one must take the “Pace is an idiot” rantings with more than a grain of salt. Css’t have it both ways: If it is a 5 year rebuild then the guy gets 5 years. I am reasonably confident that this year will show some promise. And I think some promise needs to be shown this year, too.

This is why Pace is a fucking idiot and he has wasted 3 years of our time.

When will fans demand more than this piece of garbage for a GM? It's almost like you people want a shitty team
