6) Russell
7) Schwarber
8) Ross
9) Howard

With DH I like a speed guy in the 9th hole, if you have a defensive speed guy with bad average, you put him here in front of your speedy leadoff, rather than potentially block the bases in front of a base stealer.

Russell earned the responsibility, and Schwarber in front of Ross doesn't block the bases for anybody fast.

Uh, Yeah, no shit man. The guy is more responsible than any one player to this team. The guy has been running the team so well and you can't argue with how he has managed the team. I saw Schwarber play in Arizona and he looks ready. I know he's not hitting major league quality pitching but all he has to do is get back his timing which he already has done. He has hit big league pitching before so why not after his surgery which happened almost 7 months ago. He's ready and will be a HUGE bat off the bench in games 3,4,5. Cubs in 5!!

I like this one:

Fowler - CF
Bryant - 3B
Rizzo - 1B
Soler - RF
Baez - 2B
Zobrist - LF
Schwarber - DH
Russel - SS
Ross - C

I love the DH and can't believe they play with different rules in different leagues. The National League is so set in its stupid ways. Its always better without the pitcher hitting. The pitcher, with the exception of game 2 with Arrieta can typically not hit shit. Its makes the game more exciting and increases scoring but doesn't skew individual numbers. The pitchers in the AL are every bit as good as those in the NL. There are at least 5 guys who are on fire right now. Could be 7 if Schwarber and Contreras get hot. Looks like the Murderers Row!!

The best thing about this lineup is that its the same lineup were going to be running out there (with the exception of David Ross) for the next 5-7 years!! The Cubs will be the best team in baseball for the rest of the decade and into the next. And with Theo Epstein and his staff's ability to judge and acquire talent this team is going to be scary good for the foreseeable future!!!

I think DanTown's lineup is closer. I don't see Soler playing but if he does it'll be in LF. Much more likely that's Contreras though. Also Schwarber should hit 6th. If he can show that he can make hard contact and take good AB it'll be some protection for Baez.

No lefty starters, Heyward is starting every game. Get to chicago and Schwarber and Soler are your two pinch hitter options and Kyle handles lefties.

What is going to be berry berry interesting is if Schwarber rakes games 1 and 2 and almost forces Joe to put him in the lineup, but I really dont think Kyle will be using his glove this series at all, no matter what.

Not going to happen. Schwarber hasn't been cleared to play the field.

Any chance Schwarber has unofficially taken some pitches from some of our pitchers in practice? If Babe plays, Theo must know he's ready.

We had that sim game before the NLDS. Maybe they had him face Lackey of whoever was throwing? It sure seems like Theo knows something.

There are pitchers with the club too, side days for LAckey and Hendricks ok, Zas, Hammell, Cahill, all available to throw to him.

Kyle just has a swing that is easy and wont change. Now we see where he goes in the lineup, I am thinking 6th behind Javy with Heyward and Russell 8 and 9. If Joe really wants to juice him up, he bats him 4th or 5th, puts russell back 9th where he did really well last year.

The National League is stupid? NL baseball is far superior to AL. AL is an autopilot game, except for pitchers. No double switches and little strategy.

No chance Soler starts in RF. It's a hitters park - Heyward is in RF. Sure sounds like Babe is DH'ing. Wow - who would have thought this would be possible even a week ago.

It'll be interesting to see where he bats. I think Heyward has to go 9th, right?
