The water definitely opens it up. If you go to a scotch bar, they have tiny pitchers of water specifically for adding a few drops of water. I add ice in a pinch, but prefer to just add a few drops of water so it doesnt get too diluted.
Yea, you want to retain the finish. I drink neat sometimes, but I like a little ice or water.

To each their own though. I am not a Scotch snob.
Same
Unless you add Coke to it...
That's sociopathic behavior if i've ever seen it.

$1000 an ounce

Does that include the CCS discount? I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm a donator. Kinda a big deal.

Whisky is served with a small pitcher of water in all 5 regions of Scotland. They frown upon adding ice, though.

Best affordable, high-end scotches for me would be Glenmorangie Signet and Dalmore King Alexander III.

My usual go-to is either Glenmorangie Nectar D’or or The Macallan 12.

I like the Nectar D'or quite a bit, I also usually have a bottle of the Quinta Ruban around as well. I've never had a Glennmorangie I didn't enjoy. I've only had a Macallan a couple times, I have a bad habit of just buying the things I know I like and not trying new things (also doesn't hurt that with good scotches you're paying $40-$80 a bottle), so next time I go to total wine I'll have to pick up a bottle of Macallan and Dalmore.

I'm a big Balvenie fan. The 14 year Caribbean Cask is one of my favorites. Couple drops of water and drank out of a good scotch glass, and that's it. Good glassware makes a big difference IMO.

Any of you guys ever watch Ralfy on YouTube? - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp0k3OKqfkPW0HdRLA8JWZg

Picked up a couple more bottles recently. I have a bottle of Glenfarclas 12 that I really really like. I also picked up a bottle of single malt whisky that’s distilled in Ft Collins at Mobb Mountain distillery. The Mobb Mt whisky is a bit harsher but still good

My friend had a bottle and I tried a glass. It's pretty good, but when I saw the price tag.... I don't know if I'd buy it for that price. Rather go decent scotch for the price.

All one of me... you know when people start in on me about pigeons I don't cry.

I told a funny story about a pigeon attacking me, and I lolz when people bring up pigeons.

Try not being a whiny introvert who can't take a joke, take Ommy's e-dick out of your mouth, and quit whining about message board ribbing.... it only makes people want to rib you even more.

Good choice.

The Glenfarlas 25 is pretty amazing. It’s also not stupid expensive.

Went to a tasting with just about all of them. While it’s good, Its like Irish whisky...I just can’t get all that into it.
