Could a lineup of Rose, Gordon, Salmons, Noah (at the 4), and Shaq at the 5, with Miller coming off the bench, challenge for the Eastern Conference Title? It sure would be fun to find out.

http://www.rumorpress.net/

There is a possibility Shaquille O’Neal could be in a Chicago Bulls uniform next season. In a rather surprising discovery, the Phoenix Suns and Bulls plan on engaging in trade talks that could send the future hall of fame center to Chicago, as soon as teams are allowed to talk after the playoffs. Suns GM Steve Kerr is looking to deal Shaq and is said to be interested in Loul Deng. The Suns would like to move the aging center mainly because he has slowed the up-tempo Suns down drastically. They feel Deng could bring some young, athletic energy back to the team. The Suns also feel Deng could still live up to his potential and contract if he can stay healthy.

The Bulls apparently will listen to the potential idea at the very least. However, Chicago fears that O’Neal will slow down the Bulls young, up-tempo style of play (with the Bulls already having a slow moving, aging center on the team in Brad Miller). On the other hand, the Bulls would love to get rid of Loul Deng’s huge contract, especially with the emergence of John Salmons and with their hopes to resign Ben Gordon. In addition, Shaq’s contract expires at the end of next season, freeing up even more money for 2010. The Bulls also feel Shaq could be a good influence on the young big men and could fit temporarily for one season as a low post presence. The trade would likely be O’Neal for Deng, Tim Thomas and Jerome James (assuming James exercises his player option) Look for the Suns and Bulls to at least toy around with the idea.

If those talks do not work out, the Bulls, as we all know, will likely target the Clippers Chris Kaman or Marcus Camby in exchange for Kirk Hinrich. It seems more likely that the Bulls would be interested in Camby with his contact expiring after next season. It will be interesting to see what direction the Bulls go once the off season begins, stay tuned.

No, they couldn't challenge for the Eastern Conference title...unless there are a few unexpected retirements. No, that is not enough. The Cavaliers, Magic, and Celtics would be better. And you better do better than Noah at the 4.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Well that would technically solve that nagging lack of a back to the basket player problem. Would it challenge for the Eastern Conference title? Maybe. As Fred said, it would be fun to find out.

Remember, Noah is a stud. Rose is on another level. Ben Gordon is one of the best SG's in the league. Shaq fills the biggest void for us. Plus, adding a future presence in Mullens will put us over the top. We can make noise!

I disagree with everything that was just said. Noah is a stud at what? Gordon is one of the best SG's...yeah, security guard, we need a shooting guard.

Rose is on another level?

Yeah, I hear the noise, that's a thud in the first or second round...

That's funny. I talked about Shaq going to the Bulls in another thread. And I would do only if it meant getting rid of Deng's deal. I would do it just for that.

Would the Bulls be East contenders with Shaq? Eh, maybe. What's an East contender? Making it to the East Finals? Maybe the could take a round or two. But winning in the second round would mean beating Clev, Bos or Orlando. So I wouldn't bet on it. But I would take it over nothing happening.

I don't know if we make it to the ECF but its certainly possible. We would certainly be a top 4 team and really give people problems in the east. It really would come down to health. The east would be built on frail big men. Big Z, Ben Wallace, KG and Shaq could go down at any moment. But assuming everyone is healthy, I think the Celtics are still the best and then its a toss up between us, Orlando and the cavs. Your really can't count anyone out in the east. All it takes is a bad matchup and you could be out of the playoffs.

this story was broke by tech 9 a few weeks ago but i found this from arizona newspaper yesterday it confirms what tech said basically http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/articles/2009/06/14/20090614spt-p2main.htm
i personally would like that deal we get rid of dengs bad contract and have plenty to spend in 2010,plus probally make it to a 5th or 6th seed next season go for it..than draft james johnson to be our sf of the future.

I'm not so sure about this deal. On one hand we get the most dominant low-post player of all time, now a shell of his former self, that fills a need & who's contract expires at the right time. On the other hand, we'd be getting a large, slow-moving center that will seriously bog down the up-tempo style we are built for & used with great success this season. Though I think Shaq could work here, I also think there's a definite possibility it could turn us into the Suns of last year, a team stuck playing in the half court with no real half court players other than the Big Shaq-tus.

And no I don't see us competing for a title with Shaq. I think we could get to the 2nd round, maybe but Boston, Cleveland, & Orlando will be very tough to beat. If he goes to the Cavs, on the other hand, then it's a definite yes that they'll be in the Finals next year.

I don't think the Cavs can write a ticket into the finals either. Even with Shaq, they are not as good a team as the Magic or even the Celtics with Garnett back.

All Lebron needs is 1 guy, 1 GUY, who can command a double team & he will be in the Finals again. I mean he went in '07 with a worse team than he has now. And please, the Celtics are on their way down, big time. I can't wait for KG to come back & average 10pts & 5rebs a game. When you hurt your knee coming down lightly after a dunk you've got serious problems. The Big 3 are old now. They put up a helluva fight in the playoffs, but they still have no bench & rely on their over-the-hill stars to play 36-40 minutes a game. I think Miami will be better next year & could be the team competing with Boston for a top 3 spot.

I don't know why but whenever I think about it i can't help but see Shaq in a Celtics uniform next season and winning his 5th chip there and then going back to the Lakers to compete for a sixth as he ends his career.

Anyone else see this?

Nah i think Shaq ends up in Cleveland,Dallas,Lakers or Bulls as an outside chance. Tech 9 knows his stuff so i believe when he says Bulls and Suns will atleast talk Shaq.

No way does Kobe want Shaq back in LA. He may say good things about him but in no way does he want him.

Id say theres a better chance of him joining LA than Boston.

You don't like the Celtics because they are over the hill but you like the Cavs getting an over the hill player who can't play ball two days straight to put them over the top....got you.

Tyrus would be better as a starter next to Sha q than Noah imo.He can hit the midrange jumpers off of ShaqS occasional double team Noah basically only scores in the paint and Shaq would have that on lock..Noah would still get starters minutes anyhow with Shaqs slowing down and all.

Its not like Tyrus is this amazing jumpshooter. He shot 35 percent last which Noah could definetely get. He's working hard on the jumpshot and might be able to improve the shot. Tyrus isn't a good help defender and neither is Shaq so that pretty big minus on defense as I rather have Noah because he much better defender
