Yah I find it hard to see the team overcoming the loss of these 3. Clinching a spot in the playoffs just got real hard let alone having success in them. Some guys will really have to step up their games to overcome this.

Really tough to swallow this right now. Boys have had bouts of shitty luck all year the timing and impact of this one really puts the shit icing on the sewer cake. We need Bolland and Campbell back now big time..more so Bolland as I think our blueline with Campoli has been able to overcome the Campbell loss pretty admirably. Not saying we don't need Campbell back though..just need Bolland that much more now.

Brouwer/Bickell/Frolik/Kopesky are all going to have to elevate their games (god knows Brouwer needs to again). I would like to say the same things about guys like Dowell and Stalburg but I don't think they are able too. I have seen these other guys do it. Frolik esp will have to up his game as he is supposed to be an offensive punch. Have been okay with him taking center duties and he has stepped up to that challenge fairly well...we need him to start hitting more twine now.

Seasons not over until it is over but this is tough to swallow.

Who is Stalburg and Kopesky?

Last I heard, neither Bolland, nor Campbell, were participating in full practice. Campbell is skating just enough to try out new skates and see if he can play through a broken bone. I doubt either play Wednesday. If they aren't back within the next few games, this team, as it stands, will have a really hard time making the playoffs. The longer this season carries on, the more disappointed I am in guys like Brouwer, Bickell, Stalberg, Pisani, Johnson, and Kopecky. I wouldn't shed a tear if none of them are back next year, to be perfectly honest. I'm absolutely loving Campoli, and Frolik is playing well, even though he's not producing. Last year's team spoiled the shit out of me. We used to get timely goals from our role players, and the guys I mentioned are pretty much just fucking worthless when it comes down to the clutch. If Toews/Kane/Sharp/Hossa aren't producing, NOBODY is.

Even I an outspoken johnson hater can't be disappointed in his play here. For what he is he has been and what he is his contributions have been what was expected. He was never going to be a depth scorer if that was what you expected. On the defensive end of the game he has been just fine, no need to mention his face off skills.

Bickell I have a had time being disappointed in also. For what is pretty much his rookie NHL season he has been more tha efficient. I am more than pleased with what I have seen from him this season.

Brouwer I agree. I expected and this team needs more consistency from him. He has just become that player that is hot and cold and has very little middle ground. Def has been a frustrating season as far as expectations go. I am sure he is frustrated too.

Pisani and Stalberg? Well not sure where any great expectations came from for either of them. Both are one trick ponies and it has shown time and time and game and game again. Anyone thinking they were going to get more than what they got from these guys is dreaming. They are the definition of "fillers".

I have been fine with Kopecky but like I said earlier he and the likes of Brouwer are guys now that will have to show their true worths. There is going to be a lot of weight on them now. Kopecky has had the misfortune of being a line jumper all year and position jumper. For that reason I think he has been as efficient as one could be with his limited abilities. and lets be honest he has limited abilities. He isn't really a top 6 forward but has been asked to be one on many occasions. Too bad. Cause as a 3rd liner I think Kopeck fits on any club.

I am interested in why Frolik doesn't make the Pez list of guys to be disappointed in. He hasn't exactly been an offensive threat just like the other guys you mentioned. Don't get me wrong as I have said I think Frolik has stepped into the center roll thrust upon him admirably but as far as finish goes on the scoreboard and playing physical and back checking hard..there has been something left to be desired. He is going to have to finish his chances now not just get them..but finish them. That's why the Sharp injury hurts so much. Sharp was finishing his chances this season. We need it from Frolik now.

But with all that said. I agree with you the chips are up against us pretty tight now. I think there is enough left in our schedule and the schedule of the teams we are fighting with right now for us to overcome this and get a playoff spot. I really really have that feeling. I won't be surprised if it's a 7th/8th seed though at this point with this injury to Sharp and with Bolland and Campbell out. I am fine with that though. I am not going to lie and no ones going to like hearing this..... If this is the case I would rather place 8th and play the Canucks than 7th and play the Wings. Sorry fellow Hawk fans I still think this club without Sharp can't handle the Wings in a 7 game series. I still think Detroit is our biggest test and the one team we do not match up well against. And it is that ****** Lidstrom. He ownes us and as crappy as it sounds so does Bertuzzi..he sometimes looks like the Bertuzzi of the Canuck days whe we play against him. I think the reason we have a tough time against Detroit overall is they force a lot of net presence on us and we don't get enough to them.

WOW I yapped. This is what insomnia does. But Pez...chin up!! We can do this!!!

You are right. You were spoiled with the team last year..as we all were. It was the perfect NHL team. It just was from the dressing room to the ice. Those teams don't come around very often and we are lucky to have witnessed it first hand. Many fan bases will never ever see a team like that. Not many have. I would put that Hawks team up against any cup winning team in history and put my money on the Hawks to come out on top. It was just that good.

Bolland hasn't put skates on since taking the elbow...it's a very bad concussion.

I hate the docs who can't read a simple MRI

I'm sure he read it.

They don't want to announce he's out for an extended period, playoff tix just went on sale.

I don't think them selling playoffs tickets was going to be a problem with Sharps announcement. This team just loves to drag it out. Regardless I'm just thinking that they may be trying to figure out what the alternitives are and the time frame that he may come back to put a positive spin on it. I still think he's out rest of the season and first round if we get past it.

I don't think so. I've heard two different things. First was two weeks minimum and the other was the regular season for sure, possibly the playoffs. He did take the team photo this morning and was limping. But that doesn't mean much in this case, as Hendry walked out of the UC fine the other night and the next morning had MCL surgery.

I think with Kruger being called it's not good for Sharp or Bolland.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Hearing that...is it still wrong to wish that someone would have put the boots to the players that injured Sharp, Campbell, and Bolland medium-style?

Jahns reporting 3 weeks MAX....which would mean he would be back before the end of the regular season...

See, this is what I mean....conflicting reports, mis-information....

3 weeks would be the end of the regular season. Also they could be optimistic. It depends on how Sharp heals.

They are thinking the rest of the regular season. From today, 3 weeks and the regular season is over. I might not be that good at math but that's how the calandar looks to me.

Unless we slip out of a playoff spot by the end of the season, I would expect Sharp to sit until round 1.
