According to NBA Trade Machine- trading Luol Deng & Ronnie Brewer would work to get Joe Johnson. Should the Bulls pull the trigger if ATL was willing?

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Dat contract...

But Johnson has long been a guy many thought would be the perfect fit next to Rose. I'd probably do it. Good 3pt shooter, play maker, huge upgrade at the 2. Lacking quite a bit of defense after that trade though, losing our 2 best defensive perimeter players. I'm sure in this case the best defense is a good offense.

Like JJ but I'd rather take the cap space that Deng will give the Bulls after next season as he'll have an expiring deal.

I'm not completely sure how trades work w/ the amnesty clause, but couldn't we amnesty him after a yr?

So we can trade one of our hard working players, for a guy that phones their shots in?

You're kind of painting him in broad strokes. I love Luol Deng but Joe Johnson has an offensive game that is undeniable.

If it wasn't his contract and his age I would do it.

12-13 31 years old: $19,752,645
13-14 32 years old: $21,466,718
14-15 33 years old: $23,180,790
15-16 34 years old: $24,894,863

The hawks MUST amnesty him.

Joe Johnsons contract is whats undeniable.

I guess you think Loul Dengs 18 to 20 plus points a game is pretty worthless.

his contract is pretty monstrous
The Hawks are dumbasses for giving him the max. They would've been much better off letting him walk than keeping a team that's good enough to make the playoffs but can't win a title

I agree $120M for Johnson was Special person! The MAX I would have gave him IF I was the GM would be $80M and that's it.
