Should the Bulls pursue Joe Johnson?

They're crippling themselves cap wise by taking on his contract. But then again, Billy King is their GM :lmao:

Depends who they trade away. A market like Brooklyn should be able to deal with the luxury tax. If you can build a successful franchise there the money you bring in far outweighs the luxury tax penalty.

Trading Luol Deng for Joe Johnson increases the Bulls' pay-roll by 5-6 million dollars? I think that is worth considering since he can do a lot of things Deng cannot that the Bulls need.

His production hasn't dipped yet either aside from a couple of minutes played per-game.

When you're on a team with that already has 3 bad contracts on it..trading one of the bad contracts for a worse one over a longer period isn't a smart move. Especially with Rose injury issue.

Unless you're trading Boozer's bum ass for Johnson...pass.

Plus it sounds like Johnson might be going to Brooklyn

Did you expect any differently for that :turrible: contract.

The contract is bad but I expected to see some player of value going the other way. Deshawn Stevenson is the biggest "name" in the deal and even he hasn't averaged double figures in like 5 seasons.

Plus the pick is protected.

if i was hawks i'd take nets deal...this is the only opportunity to get rid of joe...you could use the amnesty on him but you still have to pay him his money...sending him to the nets you get rid of it totally and get expirings back

Not entirely true. The Hawks wouldn't be paying the entire contract.

As teams finalize framework of Joe Johnson deal contingent on DWill commitment, Nets won't be sending future 1st to Atlanta, source tells Y!

Hearing the Nets-Joe Johnson deal is "pretty much done.''

Yeah, you're getting rid of that shit contract but taking on some pretty shitty players in return. Will be interesting what the fallout from this will be both in Atlanta and Brooklyn.

Atlanta has to decide next on what to do with Josh Smith.

Probably would like to keep him :dunno:

They may try and sign good next year's free agency ... traded a big contract for expiring contracts.

PASS!

Would rather work out a way to get Nick Young for MUCH CHEAPER instead of being stuck with Johnson's contract
