They're crippling themselves cap wise by taking on his contract. But then again, Billy King is their GM :lmao:Big name. Will sell tickets.

When you're on a team with that already has 3 bad contracts on it..trading one of the bad contracts for a worse one over a longer period isn't a smart move. Especially with Rose injury issue.Trading Luol Deng for Joe Johnson increases the Bulls' pay-roll by 5-6 million dollars? I think that is worth considering since he can do a lot of things Deng cannot that the Bulls need.
His production hasn't dipped yet either aside from a couple of minutes played per-game.

plus 1st round pick - protected and it's the Rockets one.
Wow. Talk about a pile of poop for Johnson.
Did you expect any differently for that contract.
if i was hawks i'd take nets deal...this is the only opportunity to get rid of joe...you could use the amnesty on him but you still have to pay him his money...sending him to the nets you get rid of it totally and get expirings back
Not entirely true. The Hawks wouldn't be paying the entire contract.

As teams finalize framework of Joe Johnson deal contingent on DWill commitment, Nets won't be sending future 1st to Atlanta, source tells Y!
Colin Stephenson @Ledger_Nets
Hearing the Nets-Joe Johnson deal is "pretty much done.''
Atlanta has to decide next on what to do with Josh Smith.
Probably would like to keep him :dunno:
atl offered josh for gasol and lakers turned it down
