How in the **** you won poster of the month is beyond me. All you do in here is post one word answers. Seriously, stop it. We're all trying to make this forum something special and as far as I'm concerned you are really the only poster in here who is doing anything negative towards that.

I have no problem with what you are saying, just the way you are saying it. You don't provide any explanation behind your posts. It lowers the post quality of the site. The posters we want here, are quality posters. It makes the forum better all around. You're posting Cubs.com message board shit. "Sure" is not an answer. It's a shitty post.

I'm not saying you are doing anything wrong. You're just making the site worse.

Facts are facts, including that every team has shitty fans or whatever it was that we were talking about.

complaing about dumb things in a forum makes the forum worse because you are starting a debate on something very stupid in an "adam dunn" thread. And so you know i love this forum, and i put alot of time into this forum to make it better. if you do not like what i write there is an option to put me on ignore. i will guarentee that none of the statements i have said or will say rush will have a problem with. your arguement is lame and trivial and very childish.

instead of saying i shouldnt have won poster of the month and that im bad for the forums, focus your energy on the specific topics at hand. again, there is an ignore button.

report any posts you dont like.

How is simply saying "Sure" doing anything positive to the site? Tell me that.

Just because Rush doesn't have a problem with it, doesn't mean it's what's best for the forum. If he says something to you, he risks losing you, that's not something that he can risk.

All I'm asking is that you stop with the one word posts, for the sake of the forum. It takes an extra 30 seconds to elaborate on the post and explain your reasoning.

I realize that the money is there. But really, it's not THAT bad. Look at the Cardinals, they are basically buttfucking themselves, should they sign Alberto. Then they will have ~55 MM in 3 players, not including Wainwright. It's really not that bad.

As for Dunn, there is no way he gets 17 million in his first year. No way. While I think that people who think he will get a slight 1 million dollar raise from his 10 million are low balling it, I think they are closer than your 17 million dollar min. figure. The fact that he strikes out a ton, will hurt him, although it shouldn't, it will.

1.) How the Cardinals run their organization has little to no impact on how Ricketts will run the team he just borrowed $1 billion to buy, especially considering all his talk of fiscal responsibility since buying the team.

2.) Fine, for clarity's sake, let's just go with the already-assumed $15 million starting salary for Dunn. In that case, the Cubs would still be paying upwards of $30 million just to get Adam Dunn. And as I mentioned earlier, the Cubs will most definitely have to pay a huge portion of Z's 2012 guaranteed money, and if Dunn's deal includes any escalation in salary whatsoever that second year (hell, even if it doesn't escalate) the Cubs will be paying close to $30 million just for Adam Dunn in 2012. With the contracts already on this team, and given what would need to be done to bring Dunn in, Ricketts isn't going to shell out that kind of cash for one guy.

If the team did not have so many holes, I could see them doing it, but the team has so many holes. The team is better off keeping zambrano and fukudome imo for financial reasons. also the starting pitching would take a hit.

if you were to move zambrano to try to land dunn how would the rotation look?

dempster
gorzo
wells
silva
(blank)

even with dunn, that pitching is pretty weak. and you would be wasting alot of money.

We have Jay Jackson who I think could be ready middle of next year(injury insurance) and Andrew Cashner. We need to give Cash Money a shot to see what he can do. I don't want him to become Papelbon 2.0.

Fact is we aren't going to contend for the World Series next year. But this is the type of rotation who has the ability to get us to the playoffs. If we make the playoffs next year, I think next year will be a major "victory" for the cubs.

I'm excited to see Jackson, although I think he'll be a September call up next year. Also, Cashner has a ton of talent, but just needs to work on control.

I think between Demp, Gorzo, Wells, Silva, and whomever, our starting pitching should be solid enough, provided we actually get run support. It's just Russel and Burg that scare me. If we could snag a good relief guy and maybe a 4-5 starter, there might be room for Dunn, as well.

If Barney can play well next year that would close a hole for this team at second base (even though i have been impressed with Dewitt.) They have some good young pitching prospects. If diamond cand find his realse point on a consistent basis i think that he could show that he is a good pitcher. Smardiza has looked really good when he starts in the minors if they can get him ready in the next few years that would be great.
