Shouldn't the "Lambeau Leap" be flagged for Excessive Celebration?

How is it that dumba$$ Ochocinco can't do a lame dance, but the boneheads to the North can do the "Lambeau Leap" and are not flagged for Excessive Celebration?

I've wondered this, but it's probably because it's become such tradition that the league and the officials just look the other way on it.

N.F.L. No Fun League. If the 'Leap' can be gotten away with, Bears oughta be able to Toss a Packer Player/Fan over Soldier Field after a TD. :smug2:

Tradition is a big part of it. Other teams do it, too. The rule is that it is a penalty if more than one player jumps into the stands. If only one player does it, it's no different than slam dunking the football over the goalpost or spinning it on the ground.

then spiking the ball should be a penalty too.

Spiking the ball is allowed. Running to the back of the endzone, and jumping into the stands is a little different.....and should be viewed as such by NFL rule.

If Jared Allen cannot continue his sack dance where he goes to one knee and ties an imaginary steer, the rule is where a player may not be allowed to celebrate a play by "going to the ground" then why should a player be allowed to leap into the stands?

Logically makes no fucking sense to ban one thing and not the other.

As do I. However from a logical standpoint how can you ban that....yet allow a player to leap into the stands. Boggles me.

I honestly believe that all celebrations besides high fives should be banned. I mean, every play guys are dancing and making up these stupid celebrations, its simple, just ban that garbage.

How is it garbage to celebrate? The adrenaline rush from something like that is very high, especially when its to tie or beat the opposition. Its a Game. Its Suppose to be Fun. I rather see excessive celebrations (after a TD) than watch 3 hours of Flag Football (The 'omg he took a hit' b.s. condemning big hits that are clearly NOT intentional) with a corn cob stuck up their ass.

Because people are celebrating after basic tackles and 6 yard runs.

Just do your job and go back to the huddle.
