Why, because they would panicking like you? I don’t care about his beliefs. He has the right and freedom to follow his convictions.

He hasn’t played a down of football since 2016. Like it or not, signing him would be a huge distraction for everyone on the team because of the media barrage that would follow him to town.

They don’t need Colin. They shouldn’t play Chase Daniel. They don’t need Nick Foles or AJ McCarron. They need to continue to develop Trubisky and tune out the meatball fan base.
If Trubisky doesn't significantly improve and just continues to suck, how long would you give it? Obviously this season. All of next season too? His whole rookie contract? Are you content to let another championship defense go to waste waiting for another bad QB to get better?

It would take him most of the season to learn the playbook. And he's not a long term answer. And a distraction. Not like he was a good QB in the first place either. Not worth it.

Guy has talent but had a hard time staying in system after a lot of time with a much easier playbook. Harbaugh knew how to use him and was willing to run that sort of O. We are not. He's dangerous and can make chicken salad out of chicken shit but also just not do much of anything when the D is right and asked to run something more like we do. His talent level says he should be playing somewhere but he's not a good fit here.

I’d give him this season and next if it was my decision. I’ve watched way too many excellent QBs struggle early so I am not even close to hitting the panic button.

I also think TD passes can be an arbitrary stat like wins for pitchers. Let’s say Robinson gathers in the deep ball and blows past the safety and scores. Let’s also say Cohen scores on the swing pass instead of getting dragged down by the goal line. Then how is Mitch’s performance perceived?

A few weeks ago people were lavishing praise on Mahomes when two of his TD passes were one yard shovels and another was a short slant that Hill blazed out the backside to the house.

You really think the family would sell their always full pot of gold?

So many heirs that currently aren't getting much from the team get to see a windfall and set generations up for life. It's not something all that tangible until they sell. Oh ya, they'll sell.

I didn't say anything about TD passes. I'm not a stat person. My issues with him are his lack of awareness (not seeing the field), lack of pocket presence/poise, and wildly inconsistent down field accuracy.

So what do you think Colin would bring to the table? When would he ready to play? Do you think he'd be a distraction?

I would view a move away from Trubisky at this point as a panic, novice move. I don't believe the idea is even on the Bears' radar and it shouldn't be.

Yet Trubisky's shovel TD doesn't count, it was a glorified hand off.

I don't know that he'd bring anything to the table being away from the game as long as he has. My comment about being proud if they signed him is purely for non-football reasons. If they get to the point of making a QB change there are other options I would be looking at before CK. I agree there's no way they even consider that this year. I hope they don't waste multiple years though, if the progress isn't there.

The Bears are the first team in the NFL to make a commitment to social justice reform. I'm already proud of them.

"social justice" is a euphemism that often conceals the advance of a number of communist, black nationalist and/or radical feminist agendas. I'm highly distrustful of it. Though on its face, it appears innocuous, even righteous. But that's the guise communism usually takes before they liquidate people in the gulags.

I mean, look at Kaepernick himself. He claims social justice but he's really a radical leftist. It's all just a veil to conceal sinister motives they want you to think are virtuous.

Look back to history, this social justice stuff led to millions of deaths in the soviet union. I'm not making shit up. There's good reason to be distrustful of this. It's no coincidence that most of the people who advance the cause of social justice are socialists and communists themselves.

Turn off Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson. Being against police brutality isn't communism.

No first round pick for two years and Chase Daniels won't be any kind of improvement. Colin would be the missing piece for a Super Bowl run. Also, Kaep's worst games are better than Turdbustsky's best.

...never with this ownership.

Kaepernick isn't any good, and there's no chance the Bears don't give Trubisky the full season to see how he comes along. If nothing else, they need to confirm that he's worth sticking with or if they need to prepare to look elsewhere. One full year under Nagy will give everyone a good indication of what he can be.

Kaepernick isn't any good

have checked his "resume". Did u checked his stats from his final season?

Kaepernick won't come here for the same reason he hasn't signed with any other team. He wants too much money to be a backup. Honestly, do you think he would sign a vet minimum contract at this point? No, he knows that he can make more money making Nike commercials. If he signs to be a backup with some team and then has to come in and actually perform, and he doesn't, then the narrative would be changed.

He is in a perfect place right now. The kid is still worth 20 million dollars (that was before the Nike contract) and he is relevant on the social stage. If he signed for a minimum contract he would just be a clipboard carrier. He won't do that unless he can make at least 5 mil a year.

Do you want to pay 5 million for a backup QB that may or may not be any better than what you have right now?

You may not like Kap...check. our ownership is very conservative at the leadership positions and would never take Kap...check
But to say a playoff / SB Qb "may or may not be any better than what you have"
