Oddly enough those issues didn't cause him to me charged for those deaths so I guess the law saw it differently than you did.

Lol no dummy. Not every character issue is a crime. He has a problem speeding. He was warned about it when cops stopped him a few months ago. He was told that GA players were speeding too much and need to slow down before someome gets hurt.

He disregarded that advice and apparently engaged in street racing with a GA staffer that led to 2 deaths. The fact he wasnt criminally liable for their deaths doesnt mean it is not a character issue.

Steelers figured Bears pick was going to top 5 in the second round, so the Packers offer of (what they were thinking at the time) a later round 2nd pick and a late round pick is not as attractive.
What does this have to do with what I personally was fine offering up for Chase Claypool? I didn't say it was competitive offer. I didn't say it would go through. I'm just saying as a Packers fan, screw the 3rd round pick, toss it at at WR who might flourish, but just could as easily bomb out. Reason being -- our third round picks have been floppy flops lately.

So, as a Packers fan. I couldn't care less about what was "attractive" to the Steelers at the time. My top offer was 3rd round pick. What's so difficult to understand about this? Yeah, it wouldn't have been accepted, so be it. He wasn't worth a 2nd in my view. But the hell do I know!

@remydat will have to be put on CCS suicide watch if this whole Claypool/Bears thing doesn't work out for the team.

He's the only one i've seen that's been 100% behind this trade since it happened.

Nope. I am not you who defended Pace like you two were fucking.

If Claypool sucks this year then he is not re-signed and we move on. If Howie Roseman can survive taking Raegor over Jefferson then Poles can survive trading for Claypool.

None of which changes the fact that trying to argue that Claypool's character issues are worse than a guy whose issues helped kill 2 people and led to him not being able to finish a basic NFL workout is stupid. The fact you are coming in trying to defend that take just proves it is stupid.

this seems like an intentional leak to light a fire under claypool if there isnt one there already...as others have said, if he hasnt realized that he needs to go all out in a contract year then hes got bigger issues than football

This has such a 2022 Teven Jenkins bullshit feel about it.

Bears have the yearly obligatory camp hero, now internet clicks demand the creation of the yearly camp malcontent.

Chase Claypool.

That wasn't me trying to comparing the two but Claypool definitely has character issues and doesn't matter to me what Carter's are cause he's playing in Philly. Can you show me where i tried defending anything about the Carter deal please? You can't cause it didn't happen.

Lets just hope Claypool can get his shit together and balls out this year and this trade doesn't turn out as bad as it could be.

If he balls out, this would be considered a good trade, dorkchop.

You’re right about him not being worth a second. The Steelers were definitely right about the Bears pick being worth more. Which isn’t surprising considering how crappy of an organization the Bears are.

@Anytime23 please bookmark this post and thread.
What’s a bookmark and how does it work?

Does it have anything to do with necrosis and bringing back old threads from the LITERAL grave?

I thought that was a heavy labor intensive process involving weeks of scrolling back in time 1 page at a time.

The only character issues that matter are the ones that arise during his NFL tenure.

Every player in the NFL Draft come in with the floor being they'll be a bust and out of the league.

Not every player comes in with the potential to be a Hall of Fame DT. So if you have a guy with the same floor as everyone else but the potential to be massively better than everyone else you draft the guy that's going to make the biggest impact for your team.

Dunno, remember that ESPN 1000/KAP were the ones behind the leaks about jenkins last year, as referenced below. Clearly the bears were not happy with JEnkins attitude, but there was zero indications the bears were looking to trade him outside of Kaplan.

This is why professional journalists don't report on hearsay because its usually not true. Similar to when dumbass hub arkush went on the score and said he heard from a person that Cole Kmet isnt a fan of fields...when every sign points to him loving the guy.

No idea how these guys have journalistic integrity when a lot of their reports are from stories they heard from a guy who heard it from a guy. So unprofessional.

Also, I would like to say Silvy is pretty sports stupid. He sounds like Kyles cousin from Southpark and has a bunch of dumb takes.

Him and Kap take turns being idiots on the air and their cohosts have to reel them back into reality.

No this is objectively false because NFL teams pass on players all the time due to character issues. So it clearly matters to NFL teams which is the only thing that is relevant. You making up shit to defend your shitty opinion is what doesnt matter.
