I'm talking about the puck and nothing else.

I understand that. Would you rather have the momento from your first goal have the Hurricane Logo, or that of an original six? Especially that of your team's longest rival.

Smith looked really good, much better than Krüger did in his stint. He brought good speed and hustle and seemed to energize the whole team. Keep it up for game #82 and pot a few goals for good measure.

Besides his goal, sweet,

...his moves on his PK breakaway, his backchecking (broke up at least 1 Wings scoring chance), and his willingness to check, mix it up and go to the crease bodes well for the Hawks future.

Exactly, the most important thing to me, is even without his goal he just played a very good all-around game. Same with Leddy the game before, even without his 2 point night he just dominated. The Hawks have a very bright future.

Leddy, Morin, Smith, Kruger, Pirri, most these guys will be coming up within the next few years, all of them have had a positive impact when called upon this season. It's great to see. Not to mention there are others that still have not seen their chance in Makarov, Lalonde, Beach, etc.. etc.. that still have the ability to make an impact.

Oh yeah, and not to mention a certain goaltender between the pipes.

I forgot to mention his speed, too. He just put it into another gear on his breakaway going around the Wings D-man.

Please people who know how to photoshop help me out.

And that was probably the best first NHL goal since this random guys beauty. I remember trying to put together this piece of shit printer while listening on the radio.

Ben Smith is a perfect example of why college hockey is a better route than major juniors for most kids

My god are you a simpleton?

Obviously I was extremely happy he scored against the wings especially because they had to win the game. I don't like the winged wheel at all and I'm saying his puck has a wing on it and that sucks. It has nothing to do with wanting him to score his first nhl goal against another team.

Sorry about my rude remark.

The point I am making is that as a momento of one's first goal. If it where me, I would rather have scored it against a hated rival rather than lets say the 'Canes, who's logo is amoung the worst. No matter your hate for Detroit, they are still a storied franchise and the logo is a fine one at that.

Imagine he is 50 years old and only scored the one goal. He shows his friends and they immediately recognize the logo. "Shit man, you scored on Detroit, sweet"

or

"What the **** is that? Some kind of Cat"

"Its the Panther's logo, they used to be in Florida"

"Oh".

Think of it this way, it's a trophy of his first kill. What better beast to have slain than the hated Winged Wheel?
