A lot of people on the CBMB confuse "troll" with "opinionated".
Even with the inconsistent moderation, true trolls didn't really last too long as any attempt to have a set of balls was usually met with a thread deletion, "vacation" or a ban. So no, we didn't have very good trolls, but you can give us some credit for having a handful of epic fucking narks.

I can tell you, that you are VERY correct.
I am one opinionated SOB, and people slapped the troll label on me for it over there.
Usually, if you distill it down, it'd go something like this:
Me: "Johnny Knox is over-rated, because of X, Y and Z."
Them: "Nuh uh! Knox rules and your a troll and a poo-poo head! Ha ha, look how cool I am for saying you suck!"
Me: "Err... gee, thanks for the "intelligent debate", you meatball fucktard?"

Yep. I mean, so I have a different and strong opinion - people would act like I just insulted their mother and would start getting personal.
Another good recent example - the first preseason game. I put up, generally speaking, that anyone who was acting like a raging nut over the first preseason game was a football idiot, especially given how 1) the Bears always seem to suck their first preseason game under lovie and 2) it was being reported all over the place even before the game that the coaching staff doesnt even see it as anything more than a glorrified scrimmage.
Then, out of nowhere comes someone who just skips the debate and personally rips into me - not attacking my argument but hurling insults and being a jackass; totally unprovoked; all that did it was a very strongly worded general opinion.
Such is life, I suppose.
Would be funny though when they would lose control and get themselves put on moderation, and then when they get back blame me for their lack of self-control issues.

That did piss me off too a bit. I'll be honest - Knox WAS overrated and not and was NEVER going to be a #2 or #3 WR in a good system. He was a perfect #4. And I did want him gone, not because I hated him, but so that his nuthugger fans could follow him and some people on the board could "break the habit" so to speak.
But I never want to see someone go down to an injury. I'd rather Knox have lost his position here and latched on elsewhere. Even gruesome injury aside, its not cool to make fun or celebrate a guy who potentially may have just lost his most major source of income in his life.

I agree that Knox was a nobody from nowhere that was living in a dream and only doing ok with it; I was shoutin' for Plaxico or anybody to come in.
But, when the injury first happened these people showed up in several threads laughing and clapping and saying all kinds of twisted shit. Jesus man the kid may never walk, or even be able to feel his dick again, and you people are making jokes? For **** sake.
