Personally I'm intrigued but I'm going to wait until November before getting fully on board with it.
The team has been all hype and no substance for the entire Poles era and while I fundamentally like the moves Poles has made this off-season to give Williams a chance - they were so bad and wrong last off-season that I can't fully buy in.

Not having full buy in with the Bears is usually a smart decision. I am sure a very loud segment of the fan base will be full on “playoffs!!!” after the draft.

Why wouldn't you be? Aren't you used to the best coaching prospects constantly turning away from the Bears and going elsewhere? Aren't you used to the Bears skimping on head coaching hires and watching almost all of them suck?
We obviously don't know how things will turn out, but for now, the BJ hiring is the best move of the offseason by any team, by far, because he was the mostly highly touted coaching prospect who's expertise is more direly needed by this franchise and it's prospective franchise QB than any other. There's almost literally no one other coach in the world we could have got that would be a better fit for what we needed and certainly no one else better than was available.
Not only that but the Bears identified him as the most pressing need and paid top dollar to get him here. That's very un-Bears-like.

But the reset for 2025 has been dramatic, headlined by the hiring of Ben Johnson as head coach and turbocharged during free agency, with the overhaul of the interior of Chicago's offensive line (Williams was sacked 68 times last season). The Bears also signed defensive tackle Grady Jarrett and rising edge rusher Dayo Odeyingbo to play opposite Montez Sweat. The NFC North is still a beast of a division, but shoring up the trenches, particularly the offensive line, should help Chicago get much more out of Williams and the offense.

Team should been 8-9 at the minimum and were very competitive in a tough division with only one Lions game out of reach... even with that OL, rookie QB and no power game. It was amazing how coaching lost the team and likely more than a few games. They fire their OC and 2 weeks later the Flus Turkey lays another egg. This was Trestman level of disfunction. I don't hate Poles but he's lucky to have a job.

I don’t believe for one second Poles would have hired Eberflus if had a say in the search for a head coach. Polian gave him two ex-colts and Quinn.
None of those guys sound like the kind of coach a young GM would prefer to work with.
We know Johnson is 100% his guy.

They’re old and the bears are not in win now position.
They should give booker reps this year and ideally they will be drafting another edge they should prioritize giving younger players (including dayo) reps to be able to make a push to win in 1-2 years

Apparently, Poles swiped Dayo from the Packers. Some excerpts…
“On the first day of negotiations, they agreed to terms on a three-year, $48 million contract with former Indianapolis Colts defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo, making his signing official three days later after the 2025 league year began.
Turns out, the Bears also swiped him away from the Green Bay Packers.
According to AtoZ Sports' Wendell Ferreira and Destin Adams, the Packers were "expected" to make Odeyingbo — a 2021 second-round pick — one of their "top targets" when the free-agent negotiating period opened on March 10.
Instead, Odeyingbo chose to sign with the Bears and later made it clear that the opportunity in Chicago made his decision rather easy in free agency.
"We have an opportunity to do something special in a special city and it's exciting," Odeyingbo told reporters on March 13. "This really wasn't an opportunity I could pass up and it really didn't make the decision hard."

Drew was my number one target in free agency after Trey Smith was tagged. It’s great to see him as a Bear especially considering he was offered more money during the process.

“Duron Harmon explains what Grady Jarrett brings to Bears
The Chicago Bears made some big moves during free agency, where they shored up the offensive and defensive lines with the additions of Joe Thuney, Jonah Jackson and Grady Jarrett, among others. Someone who knows them well is three-time Super Bowl winner Duron Harmon, who was a former teammate of Thuney, Jackson, and Jarrett at one point.
One player in particular who has come in and set the stage before even hitting the field for the Bears is Jarrett, an 11-year veteran who spent his entire career with the Atlanta Falcons. He was released before free agency began, and Chicago moved quickly to sign him. Harmon spent the 2021 season with Atlanta and got to know Jarrett well.
Speaking to Chicago Sports Network, Harmon discussed what Jarrett will bring to the Bears organization, not only on the field but in the locker room. In his introductory press conference with Chicago, Jarrett sounded motivated, rejuvenated, and determined to make the Bears a winning football team again.
"The one thing I just loved about Grady Jarrett from when I got there [Atlanta] he was just very consistent," Harmon told CHSN. "He was always the first person in and the last person to leave. He's a tremendous leader, he was a nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award each and every year, not only does he take care of business off the field, but on the field as well. He shows up each and every day, he makes sure his effort is always at a high level. They [Bears] got somebody who will go great with Andrew Billings and it should be a really good defensive front that they have, which should put them in position to win the division."
After their flurry of offseason moves, the Bears are going to have high expectations coming into the 2025 season. And while they've disappointed in recent years, they have brought in several leaders this offseason. Jarrett could be a big piece to not only help establish the right culture in the locker room, but get Chicago back to winning football games and become a threat in the NFC North.”

He was brought here to improve the overall depth and competitiveness of the DT rotation. He’s a strong character guy that backs it up on the field. He’s not here to take every snap and never leave the field. A smaller load should help to keep him productive.
