The lakers would be stupid as hell if they traded Gasol for Minny's 2nd pick.

They could say goodbye to winning a championship for a while. Kobe's getting up there in age and they can't afford to bring in a rookie hoping he's gonna be better than guy who helped you win 2 titles.

If they trade Gasol its because he showed them signs or told them directly that he wants to be traded. He may not be over the situation with his girlfriend and Kobe's wife...who knows?

There are alot of reason he could want out, new management is another very viable option. With the 2nd pick they can get a great young kid who will kiss up to kobe.

This is how I see it.

Before Gasol was traded to the Lakers, LA was full of drama. Kobe was demanding to be traded, talking crap about Bynum saying he should be traded for Kidd and that he sucks, he was throwing Jerry Buss under the Bus, Phil said Kobe was uncoachable a couple of years before that, the Lakers hadn't made it past the 1st round since Shaq left.

Sounds terrible...

Then they trade for Gasol. Kobe stops bitching. The lakers start winning... a lot.

Gasol's the reason why they got to the Finals 3 times in a row. If they never traded for him, Kobe would have been gone and Lakerland would have been dealing with an average team and 2 less titles.

Unless you trade Gasol for Dwight Howard, don't trade Gasol.

Idc if he was getting pushed around by Carl Landry and Dirk in the playoffs... and who cares if his gf and Kobes wife have issues... keep gasol.

Of course unless, like you said... he asked he wants out. But I doubt that. He seems to like it in LA.

I don't know why LA would even consider something like this.

Chances are, they're not considering it and someone just threw it out there as leverage for something.

I heard a rumor that Minny is offering Love and the second pick [maybe someone else to make the salary work] for Gasol and Bynum.

I can see why the T-Wolves want Gasol so bad.

He's played with Rubio and that would probably help Rubio feel more comfortable once he starts playing.

If they were to do that it is because they want youth i would assume, love and the second pick. Love has the potential to be much better than gasol, and what is he, 23? Then you bring in a derrick williams in the mix they now have Bryant, Odom, Fisher, Williams, and Love as a starting 5...that could be an improvement

Amare and Nash to reunite? New York has inquired according to Marc Stein and Chad Ford. Stein & Ford: Knicks inquired about Steve Nash - Knicks Blog - ESPN New York

The Knicks inquired with the Phoenix Suns about the availability of two-time MVP Steve Nash, ESPN colleagues Marc Stein and Chad Ford are reporting in a news story today regarding the Minnesota Timberwolves' efforts to acquire Nash in a deal that would include the No. 2 overall pick in the NBA draft.

I also have been hearing that efforts by the Knicks and other teams to acquire Nash have been falling flat, because the Suns are not presently inclined to move him.

But Nash is entering the final year of his contract on a team that needs to begin rebuilding

Love not going anywhere, he's not available. Gasol staying put too... So that trade speculation ends.
