This will be interesting to see, because if the Hawks make the finals this year, I see them playing this team, which is pretty shitty, because I have a bad feeling that Bettman will be all over this series and guess who he will be cheering for. I JUST DONT LIKE OUR CHANCES if it is Pitt. Not because of talent but because of Bettman.

I am waiting for one of these "big events" to be rained out. That will leave a lot of people holding expensive tickets to nothing.

Also, I quoted "big events" because they are watering it down to the point where "the" winter classic becomes ho-hum, nothing special. Just another over-priced game where nobody at the venue can see the puck. But if those tickets keep selling I guess they cannot be faulted.

There was already a WC delayed until the evening because of rain. It also did much better being shown at night ratings-wise.

They still played on during the rain.

Bettman's gonna tip the scales, eh?

Anyway, back on topic: I'll be there if there's a game at Soldier Field-- and so will many of you if you can score tickets.

Of course I would go as it would be an NHL game at Soldiers Field.

The overall idea of the WC is losing what was once special about it with this type of schedule.

We sure about that? When there's a team out West that the East teams and most hockey fans don't like its typically Vancouver.

Trust me, there's an East audience for the Canucks... and usually its against them.

Why not? Don't really see the big deal. Only play Pittsburgh twice, might as well try to get some of the league's best players on the national stage while you can.

because there is no rivalry at all. Rematch of the 92 finals?

At least if it was the Rangers, Bruins or Habs it would be original 6

But why does it have to be a rivalry game? Why can't it be a game between two teams with the two best players on the Earth? Who have rarely (if ever? I can't remember) played against each other?

First off, at least they got the Chicago venue correct this time instead of that other crap hole.

Second, think the NHL will drool over a Hawks/ Pens Cup?

I can see the marketing for the outdoor game already..............

I know there are a few members like myself who live enough near Downtown but far enough away from all the crap. I don't mind hosting for the out of towners if people let me know in advance. I just hope you don't mind sleeping on a couch. -.-

I just hope I can get a ticket in the first place... ugh
