Signing another 3 year deal with Cleavland.

That's not very encouraging.

Sorry it's not the NY Times... it was the New York Post.

Gotta love this site/posters.

News break showing the Bulls are the front runner and everyone gets all jacked up and excited

News breaks showing the opposite: "I don't put any creedence in that"..."No one knows yet"... "It's too early to say".

You guys crack me up.

I said in an earlier thread that I was thinking James would sign a 3-5 year deal with Cleveland. Nothing is for sure yet.

Yeah, it was only a few days ago that Orlando.com(or whatever) reported he is going to Miami.

I think Broussard said he would most likely be looking for a 5 year deal with a 3 year player option.

LeBron eyes new Cavaliers pact, then ... - NYPOST.com

Here is an excerpt.

An appreciably well-wired roundball entrepreneur believes LeBron James will re-up with the Cavaliers for three years, a possibility he almost certainly would not entertain had Mike Brown been retained -- something GM Danny Ferry fiercely advocated doing, hence his resignation.

Should no championships be churned out during that time frame, my source is convinced LBJ will bolt for Jay-Z's Brooklyn with a clear conscience, figuring he gave Cleveland a full decade.

With that in mind, it's hardly surprising to read Michigan-melded Dan Gilbert supposedly reached out to Michigan State's Tom Izzo. Obviously, the owner hopes to manufacture a multitude of incentives, beginning with an adored coach and pray LeBron finds him irresistible.

"I don't think Lebron, Wade or Bosh will [sign shorter deals] because of the new collective bargaining agreement that is coming. It's likely to reduce the amount of max contracts by up to 40 percent. This summer is the last chance to get huge five- or six-year contracts. Expect all three to sign five- or six-year deals."- Chad Ford, ESPN

I still say that the roster/market will ultimately be what matters most in LeBrons decision.

And i believe the Bulls have that roster plus the big market. I cant see him staying with a Cleveland team that will come up short no matter what.

Cleveland is also rumored to trade Williams and/or West. But no one can argue their starting 5 w/ Lebron vs our starting 5 with LeBron.

The only problem is that we lack depth. Say we get LeBron.
Rose-Deng-LeBron-Taj-Noah? Rose-Hinrich/DP(draft pick)-LeBron-Taj-Noah?

Bench-Hinrich and/or DP, maybe Deng, JJ....

No matter where you move deng and lbj around, you still have a sick starting 5 for the most part but the bench is really lacking.

I dont think we need to get LeBron + a top tier PF like Bosh, Amare, Boozer, etc. But we would need to move Deng to really clear up some room to build up the rest of the roster with good role players.

All I'm saying is that if LeBron wants a roster that will win him a title...then why is Cleveland trying to trade Mo Williams?

________ + Parker + LeBron + Varejao + _________

or

Rose + __________ + LeBron + Taj + Noah

or

_________ + __________ + LeBron + Bosh/Amare + _________
