I think the Sox are "shopping" Q, but in the way they "shop" all players in that, if they hear of a deal that works they will go for it. But, unlike other players, they will be more apt to move Q.

Maybe, but I don't know what Viciedo and Flowers will bring us. (I don't think Morel will be moved but thats just me). Viciedo has some value being a young, cheap power hitter with upside is he could control his bat a bit more (he's done an okay job at that thus far, but still needs work).

Dumping Quentin, like you said, isn't something I'm buying much either. But like Viciedo, he's a young power hitter with upside if he can stay heathly. Maybe if he has another 2008-esque season in 2011 they can ship in off for something. My preference would be a center or right fielder that can play solid D. He doesn't even have to hit well (see: Anderson, Brian), just be an above average fielder you can bat 9th.

Flowers is garbage. he hasnt done anything since his stop the 'roids.

Viciedo's biggest issue is his patience, in 104 AB's he walked twice, thats horrible.

I hope the Sox can move Q, cause he wont have another season like 2008 and hes terrible in RF

I dont want to see Carlos go,I think he can be a damn good hitter for and he would give us a whole lot of power in the middle of our lineup.

Unfortunately, I will have to disagree, Carlos Quentin is not needed anymore. With the addition of Dunn, his glove has turned into an issue; he will need to put up ALOT better numbers for his defense to be looked over. and as I said before 2008 is a long time ago and he hasnt looked anywhere near that since.

are we fucked if we keep him no.

are we fucked if we trade him no.

i want a RF for sure, and of course I do not want to move Rios from CF, Give me a guy who you know can catch the fucking ball out in RF.

and yes if CQ has a 2008 season next season we either A) keep him B) get more than a BA type player. but him returning to 2008 seems a stretch.

I havent thought about this much, but what if we trade Q for a reliever or whatever we get and signing jones to play RF? just a random thought.

Imagine a guy like Ryan Sweeney in RF.

A guy i'd like to have back. Only 4 errors in his career.

If Quentin has a 2008 season next season, we better get a hell of a lot more than a fucking BA.

I didn't mean it as a BA type for say, I meant it as a guy who can play above average defense like Anderson can.

True. But at the time we traded for Swisher we didn't know he was going to have a worst year of his career and whine his way out of town. Had Swisher had a normal season with the Sox and we didn't ship him off I think I'd rather have Swish getting on base at .358, swatting around 27 HR and knocking in 80 RBI.

I know his power has never really developed.

But, I think we have more than enough power.

Dunn, Alexei, Paulie, Becks, Morel, AJ, Rios, Q (when healthy of course)

And thats also true. Sweeney in right (had we kept him) would of been a solid lower order hitter that fields well.

Going into 2012 the Sox are really going to have to dig around for some good serviceable OF'ers whom can field.

Oh, how I would kill to have Sweeney in RF for us. A damn good defensive OF'er who can get on base with a little bit of speed.

What about Jared Mitchell? His speed would seem to be wasted in RF, we could possibly move Rios to RF and Mitchell to center? I don't see this happening, as it depends if Mitchell can improve. I could Mitchell filling in somewhere from the bench.

I believe he did get to play some minors baseball late last year. He has always came off as a hard worker, so I'm sure he's been putting a lot of work in getting back into shape and in the batting cage.

He's still quite a ways off from the majors. Big, long swing. I would expect him up here by about mid-2013 possibly.

Mitchell would definitely move to RF in that situation. Rios is a phenomenal CF. The real waste would be moving our best defensive player to a less important defensive position.
