Sox should have just kept AJ. None of their moves KW and company make sense, but I'm glad they atleast try.

It's worth the gamble. He'll play DH and 1B. Konerko will go to part-time duty as 1B and DH - bench player. However, I think the Sox will look for a 1B after 2014 season and insert him as DH.

This is his final year and will come off bench. Dunn is likely gone after season and may retire as well. That's why I think Abreu goes to DH after next season and the Sox pick up a 1B.

Man I hope not. I love the Sox for taking chances like this, but no DH is worth that kind of money. 5-tool talent like Ellsbury? Absolutely.

My concerns with Ellsbury are health. He's playing supposedly on a broken foot already. He misses a lot of games.

Absolutely. Even if this move, in hindsight, is terrible, you still have to make these types of moves. If not, no one would take the rebuild seriously.

If Abreu goes down hard, it sucks that they spent all that money on him, but at least they were trying.
