Madrigal working with Morel to teach him to play better 3b. Considering everyone thought Madrigal would be a disaster there I like this pairing, gotta have faith that a big leaguer can learn how to field better.
Most were making the plays except Wisdom. Stone hands were in play. But hitting wise Wisdom is going the other direction with power so he is not just a pull hitter.
Over all this team is not bad. Going as is I feel that they will get there but it will take a year.
I expect PCA, Canario and Davis in AAA getting full time play at the start of the season. Playing sporadically will not help them.
So Iowa could look like
PCA CF
Vazquez SS
Mervis 1B
Canario LF
Caissie DH
Davis RF
BJ Murry 3B
Bote 2B
Alfaro C
On the roster I would expect Journeymen in lesser roles.
Shaw shot up in his first year. I expect most of the season at Tenn. His success I feel was due to the competition and he was bouncing up so fast that teams could not get a proper read on him. Sitting in Tenn should help his development.
Horton I expect at Tenn for a cup then to Iowa around June. Sept we can expect a look if he is progressing and healthy.
Wicks is a lock. Brown and Kilian I expect in Iowa again. Neither have proven to be dominate at that level.
2023:
Wicks 3.82 ERA 33 IP 1.18 WHIP
Brown 5.33 ERA 72.2 IP 1.53 WHIP
Kilian 4.56 ERA 120 IP 1.32 WHIP
So looking at the 3 you see who was the most accomplished and got the opportunity. ERA and WHIP are a big deal when you look at SP.
On Horton he did not get a invite as a non roster. His numbers are crazy good 2.65 ERA 88 IP 1.00 WHIP. So he has ace level make up but I believe that this will not be a rush job to the majors. The non invite shows not in the plans this year and that is hype created by outside sources. But those numbers force change. So Jed might ended up forced into decisions.
