You might want to think about editing that thread title to read as "Re-signs"----QUITE different from "Resigns" no?

What's he gonna resign from? CEO of StoneHands LLC?

And yet. . .and yet. . .you still changed it Mr. Snarky Journalist.

Be nice Jovester. If the money is reasonably low and the term is only two years then IMO it's a win-win to add some cheap depth with ACTUAL upside (not looking at you Jamal Mayers) to the Bottom 6. Eh, if they still don't like him in a year they can trade him or bury him the 2nd year of the deal. What else could Stan have reasonably gotten for a young and cheap player with the rare size-speed combo for the 4th line who can be moved up to the 3rd line in a pinch if necessary? I'm hoping that he's been working in the offseason since he seemed to finally understand what "role" the Hawks wanted from him on the Bottom 6 down the stretch. He was starting to use that body more. As long a Q doesn't insist on mis-slotting him higher I think it'll work out fine.

I did nothing of the sort! I blame the internet gremlins.

PS: Dear internet gremlins, add the $875k to the subhead please.

If it's 875k than it's not disgusting, would be happier if it could be a two-way deal... haha. Hope he gets the shit together.

Could be worse, at least is salary is manageable, so it should be easier to shift if we decide to trade him

I'm happy with this. People may not like Stalberg that much, but he had 12 goals practically being on the 4th line all year... sometimes was able to move up and fill a role on a higher line for a few games at a time. He's got great speed, can draw penalties and by the end of the season was starting to hit too. I think he's a work in progress, still developing his game and who knows, by the end of these next two years people might want him back.

Eh, I just don't see any reason for this signing to cause underwear bunching. IMO, it's low-risk/low-cost at worst and low-risk/low-cost/some-reward at best. Dude isn't even going to make $900K per. That speed alone causes some nice headaches for defenders and draws penalties for the PP and for averaging just under 11 mins a game last season and yet leading the team in ES and Per Game shot differential, I'd take the $900K risk.

Not such a big deal. 875K isn't exactly going to break the bank for the next 2 years. Stalberg had a pretty disappointing season & obviously didn't live up to expectations, but for the price I'm willing to give him another shot.

I haven't seen any yet?Is that a retort or a statement?

Merely an opinion stated in general considering the emotions Stalberg's engendered in people in the past. Find someone else to get your "Moderator" on with asshole.

I see no reason to get in a tizzy about a $875k salary. It's a good price for a dude who has good speed and can cause some havoc. Hopefully they can find a role for him so he can get comfortable. The hate he gets is absolutely ridiculous. I think it will turn out to be a good deal. If nothing else he could be trade fodder.
