You don't think the major and game misconduct was justified? Because that hit is everything that hockey needs to outlaw.

It was a very bad move by Bernier at an even worse time.

yeah the hit was brutal.

I thought of something related to the Bernier hit.

Would Hossa of been given a game misconduct for his hit in the postseason against the Preds in game 5 if that happened in today's rules?

It really does make everything seem like the lucky breaks were there and the game was in the right time for the Hawks to make it work.

I actually just watched that game last night, again. I do remember that several Preds players/front office people were upset that Hossa didn't receive a game misconduct.

It's really hard to say, too. I guess the only saving grace for Hossa was that he didn't drive Hamhuis' face in to the boards with a cross check like Bernier (and several others) have. It was just a push from the back. But a push in a very, very, very dangerous spot on the ice. Honestly, I don't think I know enough about the stipulations for a game misconduct to say whether or not he deserved one.

Don't know if anyone posted this, but I saw the stat last night during the game that Quick had let in 2 or less goals in 18 of the 20 games played at that point.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Quick and Miller should be the frontrunners for America during the next Olympics. Thomas (if playing), Howard, and Schneider will probably compete for that third spot.

Quick is far better than Miller in my opinion.

But this is only if they have NHL players playing in the olympics.

Iam not saying it was not but that ended the game everyone watching turned off after that. NHL had a big stage for that game and it was over before it began that's all Iam saying, turn a blind eye worked for yotes vs us. Hahaha

It looks as if Bernier committed to the hit while Scuderi was sideways. When Scuderi turned, Bernier really couldn't do much else but drive him in. So, with Scuderi's busted up face, Benier got the gate. Bummer for him; I don't think it was vicious.

The hit is outlawed, that's why he got the game.

That's exactly what I thought.

Bernier even said after the game that he thought Scuderi was going to go one way and then went the other and it was unavoidable.

Obviously still a penalty, but the Devils PK could've done something about it. The Kings weren't exactly spectacular on the power play in all the other games.
