Ratings down 25% for Game 1 last night compared to last year.

That's because last year was a much better series. Physical play and who in the league didn't want to see the Canucks lose to the Bruins?

Last year was such a good series and the beginning of game 1 this year was really slow and suckish.

I loved Brown hitting Parise in the first period. Setting the tone. I really like Brown as a player. Really physical and he can score.

Also: Thought it was cute that Richards and Carter were on the same line last night. Maybe they can finally win the cup now that Frazzle Dazzle is on their side

It wasn't exciting at all.

The first period sucked other than Fraser getting the goal.

Then in the second period, NJ didn't have a shot for the first five minutes. Didn't even test the great goaltending.

Agreed with you and Buff. First game of the Cup Final usually is like that though ... teams feeling each other out a bit.

I'm sure the hatred will start up in the next game or two. Dustin Brown will probably find a way to make himself hated in Jersey real soon. He's very good at that.

But last year was good from the start. With the excitement of the hawks in the cup and then the fact that last year was just flat out exciting and the fact that I'm a partial Bruins fan too made this so boring compared to how excited I was the past two years.

I enjoyed the last 2 years "feeling out" more.

Boston Vancouver wasted no time getting into it (thanks Burrows) and the Hawks and Flyers both chose to play game 1 with empty nets for the full 60 minutes :lol:
