I do, but having the Canucks in your Province really bring you down a notch.

However, if we combine our super awesome points, as I have billions, and the possesor of all other super awesome points, we may be able to rid BC of the bad karmic stink pickle that is the Canucks.

This is a good plan.

The Canucks really put a damper on the whole province. Also that pig farmer who murdered all those sex workers. Also, TCD.

The greenies absolutely don't want it done. Canada doesn't care, they'll just sell that oil to China.

I fucking care. Canada has zero oil reserves. That's my biggest concern. Our federal government is so fucking stupid. Zero reserves. ZERO!!! They just keep pumping it out elsewhere and not stock piling any incase of emergency. Not that we don't have a whole shit load beneth us anyways.

There is also another catch here from British Columbia. Much of the provinces economy is based on tourism, fisheries, lumber, fresh water etc. This isn't prairy land here. When you drill and run pipelines down British Columbia you are jeopardising some of those other economical resources. We actually do care about that here in the province. It's not all about being green for the good of the environment alone. It's also about being green to protect those resources that run our economy. Tourism is huge..you connect the dots with that one. Run the pipeline through Alberta...much like Shaw they don't give a ****.

No surprises that it would be delayed if China were involved either. When you deal with British Columbia you are also dealing with China (also some pretty creative and strong aboriginal bands) . Again....go to Alberta they don't give a **** and have very little that will get in your way.

I have no relations with the pig farmers or the Vancouver Canucks.

This province has been trying to get rid of me for 6 years now. They can't handle my charisma and knowledge.

You could always just run a pipe line from Luongos hair into Portland.

Quebec is full of awesome people and delicious poutine. BC has some dirtbags, but it's pretty and has an ocean and also me, so it gets 10 million super awesome points.

Super awesome points are the most accurate measure of how great a geographical location is.

BC has the canucks therefore the whole province sucks ass. Quebec is full of French Canadians and all you have to do is the play the NHL series and realize they are horrible human beings. Ontarians are good people.

as for the ocean I live in Florida, I have the Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico

This is all true and more, in terms of why BC wants to protect itself, environmentally and financially. But, things might be changing. I see more tankers off the coast all the time. Alberta will probably be in line for another oil disaster because of their emphasis on filling pockets as quickly as possible and not much else. Their honey badger ways will catch up with them.

I'm sure many jobs would have been created in builing new refinerys and processing plants as well.

Plus how many jobs would be added to the company(s) that would have to produce that much pipe?

There's zero chance that construction of the Keystone pipeline would result in the building of a new refinery. The last refinery built in the US was in 1976. There's a variety of reasons such as costs and regulatory issues. Plus, people don't want a refinery in the backyard. And it really does not matter since existing refineries have become much more productive. In fact, refinery utilization in the US barely exceeded 90% in 2011. The last year it approached 100% was 1998.

And how many here know that the US is a net exporter of gas and other crude products?

http://news.yahoo.com/first-gas-other-fuels-top-us-export-200739553.html

The volume of fuel exports is rising. The U.S. is using less fuel because of a weak economy and more efficient cars and trucks. That allows refiners to sell more fuel to rapidly growing economies in Latin America, for example. In 2011, U.S. refiners exported 117 million gallons per day of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and other petroleum products, up from 40 million gallons per day a decade earlier.

There's at least one domestic downside to America's growing role as a fuel exporter. Experts say the trend helps explain why U.S. motorists are paying more for gasoline. The more fuel that's sent overseas, the less of a supply cushion there is at home.

Gasoline supplies are being exported to the highest bidder, says Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at Oil Price Information Service. "It's a world market," he says.

Refining companies won't say how much they make by selling fuel overseas. But analysts say those sales are likely generating higher profits per gallon than they would have generated in the U.S. Otherwise, they wouldn't occur.

I've heard on the radio discussion that the company intends to construct the pipeline save the bit from Canada to Montana regardless, and will hurdle that obstacle when the time comes. Apparantly the oil deposits in North Dakota will be transported through the pipeline as well.

Seriously. No oil reserve.

I was also watching one of those silly history chanell shows where they mimicked what would happen if oil ran out world wide. Because Canada had zero reserves we were the first to start killing each other. Was funny as hell. Good part was no one was attacking us for oil..just ourselves kicking the shit out of each other for food.
