Statistically, CW is getting out played by every quarterback drafted after him

He didn’t make throw after throw. You have to score td’s and I’m sure there’s easily 5-10 plays that he missed or fucked up.

Nice to know we wouldn’t take shit for Caleb Williams a 5’9” quarterback that’s quick but not fast in the nfl with a great arm and played for a shitty college team throwing 55 times a game to blow up those stats. He wasn’t a winner there either, transferred from a school. None of these are disqualifying but when added together, they start to add up to a clearer picture.

I’m not saying he won’t be great but he won’t be! He’s a Bear QB, until proven otherwise as I have 100 years of history or close to it full of evidence of QB ineptitude.

So, let’s just wait and see but don’t be fooled, the odds are stacked against him- he’s been horrific with accuracy especially on longer throws but you’re an NFL quarterback.

One thing I noticed is that he way overthrows deep guys probably bc he doesn’t want to give the ball away. Most deep throws intercepted are like punts anyway. It’s the first year, try it! How about once a game or even the first play of the game to catch them sleeping bc we’ve probably run most those downs for 3 or less yards.

I’m not in the nfL business but I’m positive in my own skills to be able to put forth a team as a GM. I would have picked a better coach for sure on both sides of the ball. I’d have watched some practices and I had fired Waldron pretty quick if I saw him letting shit slide with all the lack of details. Oh Chris Morgan would be gone too! Let me guess he will help them the last two games and automatically retain his position as the guy who got Williams sacked more than anyone else in the nfl!

You might want to watch again.

Also, when did you measure Williams at 5’9”? Please let the folks at the combine know they fucked up.

He transferred from Oklahoma to follow his coach.

He never once in college had 50 passing attempts in a game let alone “55 times a game to blow up those stats.”

That’s a ton of text to say, I really don’t know shit and I’m going to prove it.”

My only concern about Williams is the unexpected inaccuracy of his deeper throws, for the most part he has been awful with this. He can hit a pass spot on sprinting to his right, stationary he has not even been close on many deeper throws. We did not expect this issue, not sure what the hell is wrong but he needs to figure it out.

Check this out. Here is the pocket on the deep sideline throw to Kmet. It sure looks different than what he usually is dealing with.

I do agree he definitely needs to improve his deep ball but I think that will come. It was never an issue at Oklahoma or USC.

To be fair, none of those QBs have to begin their development under the worst coach with zero clue about offense in the nfl, nor are they working daily with multiple OCs that were put into place by the worst coach in the NFL with zero clue about offense.

Yes, Matt Eberflus is the worst coach in the NFL. That is not an exaggeration.

I would love to see Caleb get a rip at this with a guy like Kingsbury or one of the best Offensive minds the game has ever produced with Sean Payton.

If only we had Alex Van Pelt running the offense then Caleb Williams would have better accuracy than your average practice squad quarterback fodder.

to be fair, CW throwing the ball in the dirt or 15 yards over the head of his target has nothing to do with coaching or development. The ball does not go where he wants it to go.. this is a CW problem.

I posted a bunch of positive stuff about Nix pre-draft and actually had to argue with one of the mods here that suggested he could not play.

He started over 60 college games and certainly was seasoned. He’s just a good player and Sean Payton and Joe Lombardi are great offensive coaches.

What do you think Caleb would look like under Sean behind that protection?

Picking Williams was the right move. It will play out.

Daniels is already coming back to earth but the narrative hasn’t changed on him yet. Teams are bottling him up in the pocket and taking away his first read to the left. He’s extremely uncomfortable throwing right unless he’s rolling that way.

Maye is an another guy that has a chance to be good.

It would be great for the league if they all work out.
Daniels hasn't been as good since he injured his ribs. Pretty simple.

Nix fell to the one spot where he could be successful imo.

Other than that, I agree. And Penix is still there and in a great situation and we'll see what McCarthy does who also fell to a great spot. Would've been better had he not gotten hurt, but JJ was the one I felt definitely had to sit for the first season.
