Watt is a beast. For a 2nd rounder I'd do that all day assuming Allen likes his style. They already spent to be a contender this year so this team is built to win in the next 3 years or have a major reload. A lot of 3 year deals coming off the books by the time you have to choose who to extend and you can probably cut Watt by then if you don't want him.

2nd rounder ain't shit! This isn't a 2 1st rounder trade like Mack
I'd trade M.Sweat for him. Watt is a lot better than Sweat but of course we'd have to pay him another like $12 - $13 mil per more. Pitt would get a legit DE that they won't have to pay $40 mil plus to who's good against the pass and good against the run. I get we would still have question marks opposite him but now we have one of the best pass rushers in the NFL.

Maybe. I would be happier if he was 28 when the season started instead of being days away from 31. You don't give up a second rounder for a rental unless you are on the cusp of a SuperBowl. I am not even sure we could do that without dumping some key components this year for a run. Heck, I don't even know if Chicago could pay him for next year without doing some juggling much less pay for year three or four. Add to this his injury history as of late. I'd love to have him play for Chicago but this gives me Jared Allen vibes.

Why sign Rodger’s if they are trading Watt? Aren’t the Steelers trying to win a SB? Might as well tank this year. Just stupid decision making.

Steelers only make right decisions when trading with the Bears.

I believe to move Sweat this year, it would be a $34 million dead cap hit.

Ouch. Well that wouldn't work then but maybe they can figure ways to make it work for us.

The article doesn't say that the asking price is a second rounder, it's just the writer speculating.

And I don't think they are actively shopping him. They are still trying to re-sign him.

He'll be 31 this year, very little chance the Bears would invest what he will cost.

Steelers aren't trying to win a Super Bowl this year - any more than any other team, anyway.

Rodgers is a cheap stop gap option. If he does well maybe they can win a playoff game for the first time in a decade. If not, they have a bunch of draft capital next year and will use it to finally draft a QB.

Ya'll need to stop getting caught up in styles sizes and fits. TJ Watt is a Top-5 game wrecking pass rusher, he works in any defense.

I’m not the cap guru but I think that’s what it is. @remydat what would sweat’s dead cap hit be if traded?

Dexter is not going anywhere

Some of you miss the fact he was on a pro bowl pace last year prior to billings getting hurt

Also, gordon is not a moderately good player, he's on of the top slot corners in the entire NFL
You’re having a discussion with an idiot. What exactly do you expect?

Why not tank and get the best QB available in the draft? Teams don’t trade high draft choices if there is a QB available. Also teams with good QBs won’t have top 5 draft picks to trade down.

The Bears were an anomaly with Fields going to his 3rd year and the Bears still didn’t know what they had in him. He showed promise in his 2nd year.

You can ask their GM, they have been treading water for a decade, but signing Aaron Rodgers for cheap doesn't mean they're going all out to win the SB. He was the last guy left, no one was even sure he was going to play this year. They got the last option they had for a starting QB.

Might as well be one of the worst teams than being a mediocre team. The draft is the fastest way to improve an. NFL team with a good GM

I agree, but they have been trying to stay mediocre for the last decade. Not sure why.

They owe it to their aging defensive core to give it their all as long as they can.

That's the vibe I got from following them fairly closely last year. Heyward in particular has really been an exceptional player for them and using one of his mid 30s years on regrouping just isn't fair to him given how much he's given to the franchise and the level he's still currently at.

That is probably accurate, but imo not a good way to run a team. I also think if they really wanted to go all in they could have shelled out $ for Darnold or someone. I don't think anyone really thinks Rodgers is the guy.

Here's where Poles 4d chess comes in, don't need to pay your young talent if they're not all that talented!

Brisker is the first that'll walk.
I think Brisker is gonna prove a lot of people wrong this year.
