Yes just make sure to read the details. Sometimes the companies will have a vesting schedule so if you don't plan to be with the company long-term, even if they match 1 to 1 for the first $5,000 or so, you may only see 10-20% of the match if you leave within a couple years.

Omelet....are you underestimating the game playing being held. Is that graph an accurate depiction of our economic progression, or the games wall street plays and how good they are at inflating stocks for a while, only to slam the little guys and do it again?

Very long term the graph indicates that the trend will always be positive. That should be encouraging for any young person with an eye on the future and their retirement.
Short term (over a few years) you can see radical swings in the market. The 2008 timeframe was based on the banking scandals/issues. Early 2000s it was the internet bubble breaking. Is that manipulation? Maybe. But that's why I have a money manager representing me because when they represent me they are representing themselves. They only win big when I win big

Try some mutual funds first..You can ask em for their reports on their past performance..Im not an individual stock buyer either..Ive been in mutual funds for years
