I dont disagree with what you said

Do you have an opinion on that article? You have seen much and seen the cycles over generations. I would respect your opinion.

Fear mongering and sensationalism. If we have a 25 year depression as they suggest we will all be sharing your cardboard box home

I'm a Gen-Xer FWIW. IMO, society and the economy have changed, but the rules for getting ahead haven't.

Consumerism and globalism will make it tougher for Millennials to get ahead, but not impossible.

The main obstacle most young people face is lack of knowledge.

Developing life skills and acquiring a formal education are key, because they'll allow young people to make better decisions for themselves, as well as keep them viable in an increasingly competitive labor force.

Saving money and living within your means are also important, since pensions will be almost non-existent for young people today. Investing money for retirement will be your responsibility, so the sooner you start, the better.

That last sentence is scary as ****. Young people today don't save shit for retirement. There are going to be people sleeping on your front lawn in 30 to 40 years (if you're still alive).

Life always seems scary when you're young. If you're willing to bust your butt and make sacrifices here and there, you'll be fine.

Yup...When a person gets older, he/she looks back on their life and thinks about two important categories

1..The "Should Haves"

2..The "Im Glad I Did"

The key is to have more of the 2nd category. Most of the "Should Haves" come from people being afraid to take a chance

Some even look back on a post they wrote ten minutes ago and say, "I should have written this differently" and then go edit it because it was probably Special person.
