I dunno, I'm thinking the guy with over 1000 MLB PA's with a .368 OBP (.376 this season) might be just a bit more of a proven commodity than a guy with only 126 MLB PA's. Just saying.

Sure, Colvin might be better long-term, but don't forget that the guy has only had those 126 PA's, while also struggling a bit in the minors.

I just want as change in the lineup and Colvin should start Kosuke anyway. Also Theriot is hitting the ball in the 2 hole swo I don't want to move him. That is my reasoning.

...........yeah, moving a .318 OBP (Theriot's) out of the lineup would be so detrimental to this squad.

I know it has not been good but he got 2 hits today, 3 yesterday and 2 or 3 before. So why move him out of the 2 hole right now?

Because that's a small sample size

I'm a little confuse by that statement but I think I know what you are talking about. Let's say this, if you were the manager and he was hitting like that right now will you keep him there?

today during the game hawk tried to stir the shit a little and stone was like "no i dont wanna talk badly about lou-- he and i have been friends for year, i dont know where it all came from" ... i had flash backs of the pierzynski incident in 06... after the game both parties were like "we've been friends for years.. no one understands where it came from"....

Are you talking about taking him out of the lineup completely or moving him down in the order? I would have no problem moving him down in the order, but as for taking him out of the lineup completely, I'd have to think about it a bit more, but I'm leaning towards taking him out.

As of right now I would love to see Castro and Theriot switch but that won't happen. Also to me it only looks like Fontenot can play in the utilty role and not to be the everday starter so keep him in that spot as well.

at this point, i think all we do is think long term. so in my opinion, we toss colvin in right and leave kosuke for the pinch hits and late inning defense for when we're down 14-2.

i'd keep theriot in the line up, and honestly, probably have him lead off. i love fontenot, but i think he's a bit of a defensive liability.

one other thing: what's everyone's opinion on nady at first. he definitely does not have the glove that lee does, but he's proven he can hit. so, nady or lee at first base?

lol theriot leading off

nady is an experiment

probably hotter offensively than lee right now

but as you mentioned not the defender that lee is

i do think that lee is at least showing signs of emerging from his slump and maybe getting him more ABs could help....but nady needs to definitely be mixed in the lineup to get a couple of solid ABs

then who do we have lead off? i mean castro or colvin are the obvious answers, but i think it's still a little too soon for both of them?

or byrd? i don't know i'm just spitballing here.

I think they should try it, it won't hurt. Look at Andrus of TexaS, 21 years old and leading off.

I'm telling you, Colvin is nothing special. I don't know why you Cubs fans ride his nuts so hard.

He won't be like a Braun or anything but he will be a good OF in the majors. He has shown signs of that but like I said, we have not seen him at full yet.

maybe its just me but i like the idea of byrd being leadoff

i guess it wouldnt hurt however to see castro of colvin experiment leading off for a couple of games

I hate to say this, but Lou is absoutley right here. What else can you do when you have 5 major league outfielders? I mean, you can't play all five, so you have to have a rotation which it seems like he is doing that.

If anything, I would blame the Cubs Orginization for this. Tyler Colvin should either be starting every day, or he should be in AAA until you have room for him to start every day.

With the way Colvin hit the ball in spring traning, you obviously need to start him. Therefore, why not try and trade Fukudome or someone like that? Marlon Byrd isn't going to be traded, either is Soriano. Therefore it's either Fukudome, or someone along those lines.

C: Soto
1B: Lee
2B: Theriot
3B: Aram (When healthy)
SS: Castro
LF: Soriano
CF: Byrd
RF: Colvin

That right there is a VERY good lineup. But one thing is for certain, you either need to start Colvin every day, or send him back to AAA so he can continue to develop.
