That article was so bad, I couldn't even get half-way through it... the slurping was distracting.

In case anyone missed it, I congratulated Dale for his efforts after we won the Cup. Many people already started the train before, but I decided to wait until the final goal was actually reached.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
the real question is...does he get his name on the Cup.

A ring is good, but that last part grants immortality.

I personally think he desrves it.

First thing I saw when he started fawning all over Tallon was that he was going to get a ring no matter what so it looked like he wanted to take credit for it and that it would be a good way to recognize his deeds without having to put his name on the cup.

Not diminishing it at all, but would it really be satisfying to get your name on the Cup without being there to lift it when it was won? Feels like a consolation prize.

I almost wish Tallon had gone to the game. As if anyone would have prevented him from hoisting it.

Just a note...

I had told the story about talking to Dale outside the Wachovia three years ago with my customer before the Hawks were beaten 3-0 in said building. What I thought was the season just before the turning point of this team on the ice. Where he had really just started to get it and JT/PK would be right around the corner.

Walking into the Wachovia on Wed night mysteriously the memory of that 15-20 minutes completely came to mind only this time it was to play for the Stanley Cup. Dale was gone, but HIS TEAM was on the ice, and did in fact TAKE that Stanley Cup home with them.

Dale, I didn't always like the early moves, I wasn't a huge fan of them hiring another person with really no GM experience, but seriously thank you for allowing me to see what just happened. I will never forget it and hope one day can describe what it means.

Thanks Dale Tallon, Rick Dudley and even Peter Wirtz who all had a serious hand in this team on the ice, but have been pretty much left out of the congratulations!

nope. he left long before the playoff run.

He left long before the season started. Saw the writing on the wall and said so in several interviews.

He and Tallon ARE primarily the reason all Hawks fans, new and old, just witnessed what we did the past week.

No question about it.

Yah I didn't think he would get one. Crying shame. Loved Dudley the hockey man and the person. Always gave a good interview that one. Honest and respectfull.

I'm sure he is getting calls from players and others

Hit the parade and rally yesterday and then headed north for the Cubs/ Sox

game. Kaner was in the rooftops and the rumor was that the Cup was there

and that maybe some of the players were going to make an appearance at

one of the Wrigley bars. It appears most of the players are running on little

sleep................ ah, those days.
