Whether the hit was on Kane or Smith or whoever, it doesn't change anything fighting over it.

Yeah, like I said, it doesn't do that either. For example this game, Versteeg fought Gallagher. What did that change? Nothing. Better to focus on just playing your game instead of trying to get revenge.

Lmao had it been Kane you beat the piss out f the guy to let everyone know that if your gonna gun for our star players you are gonna need to back it up. Maybe it makes them think twice about it later in the game, maybe it doesn't. Just something you do for the team and your teammates. You don't have to like it and I know you don't, but that's how hockey teams play and it goes along way in the locker room and amongst teammates.

I wasn't even talking about fighting, I'm talking about having big checkers on the ice. We had jack shit for checking forwards tonight. Basically we got bullied all night which is not how our team generally lets a game unfold. Kane got run twice unanswered, Toews got boarded head first unanswered and to make matters worse we weren't even checking in the offensive zone much less the neutral zone. Was just an uninspired performance by 3 entire lines. Crawford was amazing tonight though, and our defense was very good with the exception of some bad passes and a few bad decisions. Seabs had a great game.

Everything you're talking about that is going "unanswered" is a problem the league has had for a long time, not a problem the Hawks have. That hit on Toews should've easily been a penalty.

What a save by Crow when he was without his stick. :hand:

Bullshit call on Zus interference wave off.

The team is playing like they are bored and wishing they could fast forward the season to the playoffs.

I wish I was back in Vegas banging hookers and trying to find PMX. Couldn't find someone with thick glasses that was 500 lbs and had acne... no luck this trip.

Kopecky (sic) was Hossa's guy and he got traded. Zus has played for Q before, he's Q's guy.

Handzus was, technically, in the blue, too bad he wasn't just outside because the hab player (Diaz?) pushed him into Price.

Crow and Price both played excellent, too bad Bickell hit the post in the last 90 seconds.

Don't understand why Kane took the puck right back into the D zone after we'd had so much trouble getting it out in the first place in OT.

Subban probably deserved 5, and for sure 2, he could've really hurt Toews.

If Bollig is the Hawk's defacto enforcer, he's not doing too great a job at it when folks are taking liberties with our two best forwards, and all he does is yap at one of the two.

The criticism shouldn't be at Bollig because he somehow wasn't able to deter things like that from happening, it's the refs for not calling penalties on things like the hit on Toews that deters players from that sort of play. And the league in following up with supplemental discipline when necessary. They fail horribly in that, thus the behavior continues throughout the league, no matter how "good" an enforcer a team has. Bollig fighting Prust or Parros wouldn't have stopped or changed anything.

Actually, I was referring to Bollig popping Subban in that hotdog's smug puss.

Was it not offsides on Montreal because Kane brought it back in the zone? Number 51 (I think, not sure of name) never left our zone and no offsides was called right before the game winner.

Pretty sure that because Kane brought the puck back in on his own, the offsides is waived off and the puck is live for both teams. I think the Hawks have scored a few goals in the last couple of years when the opposing team brought the puck back into their D zone on their own and then turned it over while there were still Hawks there.

While I agree the refs not calling penalties like these is a major problem, I disagree that enforcers don't deter the problem. This year the league has actually taken a pretty firm stand on dangerous hits, Shanahan has been dishing out serious punishment all year.

People will blindly continue to believe in the enforcer deterrent myth, have for decades. so it's pointless to go into that, but about Shanahan, I can't tell if that's sarcasm or not. At one point, very early on in his tenure, Shanahan looked like he was going to start curbing behaviors by the types of suspensions he was starting to hand out. Very briefly, and then I'm sure he heard about it from some people that weren't happy with him giving out those suspensions. Today, to me, he's an even bigger joke than Campbell. Because to the hockey community, he lives under this scary guise of "bringing down the hammer" from very early on when he started and the fact he uses videos to explain his judgement (more often than not, lack of judgement) so that it makes it all seem "cutting edge". But the outcomes have been much the same if not exactly the same. Repeat offenders are still only getting 2 or 3 games. Suspensions are being shortened, suspensions are being shortened due to the other player not being hurt enough, suspensions definitely still pend on who's involved, etc, etc. The same fucking problems, right down the list. New boss is the same as the old one. It's just a different image they're putting out.

Handzus isn't going anywhere, he's Hossa's guy. Bollig is by default the team enforcer, he isn't going anywhere. I agree though, playing Pirri is a no lose situation. The best reason I can think of not to bring up Pirri is that maybe you don't want to **** with the lineup when the team is clearly not broken. This Cherry guy on the intermission is ridiculous, if he was anymore flamboyant Elton John would tell him to tone it down.

I don't think Zuz and Hossa have anything. Kopecky was Hossa's guy.

Regardless of how Don Cherry dresses, he was spot on about Seabrook not being picked for the Olympics,, though the rest won't hurt Seabs.

I was pissed off that he did a 180 back into our D zone after the Hawks had such difficulty clearing the puck in the first place.
