I really don't care what he says about his religion or thanking god whenever he wins or whatever. None of that bothers me, none of that matters. What does amuse me is that he seems to be a player that makes people dumb or sound dumber about the sport. Not just fans, but people who are supposed to be paid for analyzing the game. Like TV play by play guys. It's cringe worthy. Because they have to stick to a narrative, and the narrative is the mysterious force behind Tebow and his "miracles". It's just marketing. And now Elway is trapped in it, trapped and cornered in by football stupid.

Ten years ago Dennis Miller caught a ton of flak for his brief stint on Monday Night Football, being largely useless while waiting for an opportune moment to insert one of his pre-prepared wittiscisms into the discussion in the booth.. at least they were usually funny except for the ones that soared over everyone's heads like a Tim Tebow pass being lifted up on eagle's wings.

Drew Brees is every bit as religious if not more dedicated to his church and his community as Tebow. No one hates him. And he can pass.

Drew Brees annoys me. As I said in chat on Sunday, this past football weekend brought me everything I most wanted of the NFL playoffs situation which was to see the QBs that annoy me get eliminated one by one by one. And it was an awesome domino effect of sports #FAIL---first Brees, then Tebow, then Rodgers! Sometimes I feel like the sports gods DO love me.

Did Kurt Warner, or does Drew Brees walk around genuflecting every chance they get?

It's evangelizing and a LOT of people in this country don't appreciate it.

There was an odd obsession over how painfully average looking Warner's wife was. That trumped his religious views.

All they need is to hook you in.

not only that, but she was way more vocal then he was. And while his story wasn't trumpeted to Tebow levels, the main persona of Kurt Warner is that he was reborn and given a second chance at life and football.

But it was about the story and not about Kurt walking around and doing or saying things to get attention. At the end of the day T-blow is an attention seeking whore.

At the end of the day I dont' think he has a choice. ESPN has bought and paid for his persona. If he doesn't have it, he is just another mediocre QB.

I wouldn't even call him mediocre. I would gladly take Rex Grossman over him any day...that says all you need to know.

This sums it up beautifully.

I don't know, I'd take a Rodgers-Brees shoot out again. It was entertaining as hell the first time, that's all I ask for of the NFL playoffs when the Bears aren't involved. Instead we got Alex Smith and the Giants. Eh.
