You have to consider all the pressure this kid is under too. He's probably got to get over the nerves a bit being in the spotlight like this.
I'm not sure spotlight is the right word here. The kid has been in the spotlight his whole hockey life. Whether its the young phenom on Jokerit, the leader of his junior teams, international teams, he's always had a huge spotlight on him and his potential. And he's always excelled. What he is more dealing with now is that he's finally reached his goals, and now their really are consequences to his play. Before with the spotlight on him if he would have a bad game, everyone would discect it and say it's ok it's ok, you can see the talent and he's still young he'll get better. But now, if he has a bad game it could impact his career for the rest of his life. So I don't think it's so much the spotlight, as the pressure of finally being in the end game sink or swim phase. Those are different things to me. Some people can handle the pressure and play well but not be able to handle the spotlight, the constant analysing, media, ect... Either way I don't anticipate him to have any problems with either. I hope. But how many highly touted prospects have we seen finally get their chance only to never be heard from again.
