This whole situation is pretty hilarious when you take a step back. Here we are, defending champs, still stacked from top to bottom, and we have a 19 year old kid coming in who somehow has captivated everyone.

It is a pretty sweet deal and I can't wait to see him play on the big club, but I am not going in with these expectations. I don't think he'll get more that 10-12 minutes tonight, and he is now playing in the NHL, his game will obviously look a lot different than the WJC. Regardless he can be an effective player on this squad if he takes it all in stride.

Can't wait to see him cruising up and down the ice.

I am not looking for a lot from the kid in his first NHL game. Just seeing him on the ice and seeing how he adjusted to the North American game is gonna be key to his success. Since Q changes lines on the fly, who knows if the kid will actually get enough ice time with just two guys. We will see how he does. If he scores, cool, if he gets a point, awesome. If the Hawks win! Awesome.

Just want to see some good hockey. Hopefully the boys show up.

You could tell his skillset is NHL ready. But there were a couple times where he could have used his speed to create a route to the net and opted to pass - it's just the European "everyone touches the puck" mindset. There was one time he passed over to Hartman where Hartman was clearly not looking for the puck because TT had a shot he could have created. He just needs to familiarize himself with the North American game before he gets slotted between Sharp and Hossa. I'd love to see it happen during camp next season.
