In exchange for Clowney, the Seahawks will be sending Barkevious Mingo, Jacob Martin and a 2020 third-round draft pick to Houston

On the surface it seems like the Seahawks gave up a lot

Good point.

I could be wrong and I know injuries have played a role, but Clowney & Watt haven't seemed as dominant in recent yrs.

Yes it seems watt has been injured a bit more missing 24 games in the last 3 years (none last season)
Clowney has missed 3.

Mingo was going to be cut, Martin is a bit player and the 3rd rounder can be recouped via a comp pick if he walks. Also, the Texans ate $7million of his salary. It was one of the worst trades of all time for Houston.

bamainatlanta, Thanks for the additional info.

@ijustposthere.....That's why I said "On the surface it seems like the Seahawks gave up a lot". I purposely avoided being absolute with my comment, since I didn't have all the info.

I went over to the Texans MB and saw a poll where almost no one was in favor of trading Clowney . Based on the poll, it seems the trade was very unpopular in Houston.

And I said "LOL wut" because even on the surface you could see Seattle gave up next to nothing.
