After spending most of the third period laying on Crawford, I'm guessing that Brookbank, by law, might be forced to be his new roommate.

How the **** else is NBC gonna make the Penguins "America's Team!" if they don't systematically cram them down your throat at every opportunity while as broadcasters also fellating them? Just decree it? No! They have to SHOW you!

It's unfucking real. There are a lot of Kings fans here...seeing as we're 4hrs from LA....but no, lets watch them blow Pitt/Phil

Seems Carbomb could be out some time according to Q. Is a shame, I like his style as the spark plug this team sorely seem to need to be going. Hopefully Saad steps up and puts up some points to compensate for the spark that Carbomb can deliver.

Well I didn't get to watch the 3rd period thanks to NBC (No Blackhawks Coverage)...but from the 2 periods I did watch it was a pleasant shortened season opener. I like how everyone played. I like how the Hawks look like they have good legs to start and good chemistry. A few moments during the game where you could see them being off but overall they looked really good. Tomorrow will be a good test right off the back. See what shape these guys are in.

P.S. Frolik played really well today on both ends of the ice. God I hope he can play like that for the bulk of the season.

I missed this soooo much. Didn't think I did but when the puck hit the ice I was entranced.

That stretch pass to Hossa for the 2nd goal was SOOOOOOO sick.

Well, it's really the first year since the cup the Hawks didn't have to bring in 9 new players and Q can have some chemistry. It goes a long way

PP looked good once it got in the zone

I missed LAs 2nd goal (thanks NBC), but the Hawks D did a good job blocking a lot of shots. Brokeback looked ok (that's without me seeing that 2nd goal)...but for a number 6dman, he's not bad. It was good that Q can slot Leddy to number 5 and not have to use him on the PK.

Frolik had a good game. I think Euro helped him. Kruger had a very good game...looks very confident.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
For the goals, I give Crawford a slide because it's not like he's used to our D-men mucking it up and trying to move guys from the front of the net (even though Brookbank was doing to rather poorly). Still, aside from hat he made a couple of very good saves.

Brookbank, aside from his (lack of) clearing skills, for the most part was mucking it up in the corners and taking the body--something sorely lacking for any defender not wearing a 7. Sucks he wasn't as good as I hoped, but he didn't look that bad out there with Leddy (Hammer & oduya looked worse imho). Maybe Rosival would be better. Still making a few bad outlet passes in the backend.

Monster afternoon from Hossa. No cobwebs there. Most of our forwards looked outstanding out there

Still, i'd like to share a big **** YOU with the NBC sports team. No one cares about Crosby and his assfat-injected lips,

The defense allowed 21 shots on goal, blocked 15 shots on the road in the first game of the year vs the defending cup champs with basically the exact same lineup

How much better do they need to be?
