WE HAVEN'T HAD A SHUTOUT SINCE GLENN HALL
For the goals, I give Crawford a slide because it's not like he's used to our D-men mucking it up and trying to move guys from the front of the net (even though Brookbank was doing to rather poorly). Still, aside from hat he made a couple of very good saves.
Brookbank, aside from his (lack of) clearing skills, for the most part was mucking it up in the corners and taking the body--something sorely lacking for any defender not wearing a 7. Sucks he wasn't as good as I hoped, but he didn't look that bad out there with Leddy (Hammer & oduya looked worse imho). Maybe Rosival would be better. Still making a few bad outlet passes in the backend.
Monster afternoon from Hossa. No cobwebs there. Most of our forwards looked outstanding out there
Still, i'd like to share a big **** YOU with the NBC sports team. No one cares about Crosby and his assfat-injected lips,
Frolik and Crawford looked like completely different/rejuvenated players out there. I hope they keep it up.
Kruger/Frolik need to stay together. In fact, bump them up to the 3rd line with Stalberg and shove Shaw and Bickell to the 4th line to provide the energy. Kruger particularly had a fantastic game and I've never seen Frolik shoot the puck like that before. WANT MORE!
No reason not to have 3 scoring lines and an energy line.
This is true. I have no idea if it was driven by SEASON OPENER! adrenaline because of the interminably long offseason or what but I was pleasantly surprised at how good the forwards corps looked with the exception of Sharp and Shaw. Considering only a handful played during the lockout I was impressed.
I am all about being chill this season. And no superstitions! Why do I want to let hockey give me anxiety issues? I already have TCD!
Complete incompetence by NBC and the NHL. they need to have an alternate channel (CNBC?) showing the other game when they schedule two (or more) at the same time.nbc you are a giant fail

Remember the NHL Center Ice commercial about being able to catch your team wherever you live? Not when the game's on NBC.
The league needs to have a contract with NBC that when they show more than one game, they either have to show the second game on CNBC - or another NBC affiliate - or they have make it available to NHL Center Ice. After the strike, the league needs to be about appeasing the fanbase, not antagonizing it.
You guys all realize they were streamed from NBC Sports' website in HD for free, right?
