Two days ago I layed into the parents of my peewee team for too many missed practices.



Today, I followed that up by canceling practice tomorrow so I can go to this game.

Look for Hammer to be skating with his head up tonite. He may want to put some extra padding in his helmet. I don't expect goonery or Bertuzzery, but some extra hard hits and a lil scrum wouldn't be too surprising.



Side note on tix. I posted last nite I got some extras in the club level for tonite. Got no responses so i put them on CraigsList asking for sth face, $100. then i go to look at Craigslist and i see that there are several posting for below face in the Club Level. For a hugely popular team that just won the Stanley Cup! and a Saturday night game!! So the Hawks are actually charging over market value for their tickets. Kudos to Dollar Rockwell and McPimp.



and in a recent Hockey News magazine, there's a Hawks story and it talks about how the Hawks lost money last year. I just couldn't believe that magazine actually believed that bullshit, which was just put out in the media to justify price increases.



Well Forbes will release its numbers probably in first week of November. I'll predict a massive $25 mill profit (2d only to Toronto) and a large increase in franchise value mostly based on that.

Yea no doubt they goofed the profits with Merchandising, Vending and Parking. Not sure but I don't think those numbers will reflect on the teams worth, or profits. We all know who supplies the UC with Alcohol and just exactly who owns parking.



Side note Pat could play tonight. Not sure when they'll announce it but he is at morning skate and is feeling better. With the amount of people players are meeting and shaking hands it's no doubt how this crap can make it's way through the locker room.

Ahhh the deterrence factor of John Scott.



I agree with you guys that it's not going to be a blood bath line brawl event. But I think if Rivet or Stafford or even Turtle comes over and challenges Hammer, he should just drop the gloves, take his licks and end the whole incident.



There won't be any problems unless he refuses to go with someone (if anyone even challenges him).

Don't forget corporate sponsorhips, and tv ad revenue. Both will be huge increases this year. The corporate sponsorships is getting to be too much. If Honda announces tonite that the best time to take a Miller Lite wiz is between periods i would not be shocked. And all that is part of team profits, incl parking and concessions.

I don't think anything will happen either.



I am sure everyone here and on the ice remembers the Burtuzzi incident. That Moore kid a few weeks before that game was doing some trash talking and acting like a jackass. The next game, he was challenged and answered the bell like he should have. The problem was, for the rest of the game, he was getting run, and challenged more times. That was ridiculous. Then Burt acted like a moron and did what he did.



I don't think Hammer is in the same situation as Moore, as he wasn't acting like a dick. I wasn't there, so I dunno, he coulda been jawing. Nothing on the scale of Moore though. The Sabres have been doing more shit talking then the Hawks, and if it is anything like last season, they will let the score tell the sabres who's better. Yes the Hawks have some fellas that will drop the gloves. Scott, Bickell, Dowell, even Hammer will, however, the Hawks need to be smarter and let the Sabres talk shit as they fly by them and put the biscuit in the basket.
