Not having Toews in the lineup really fucks up a lot of things, but i'm thinking the boys will be up for the challenge. I haven't made a prediction since loss number one to the Oilers on UC ice. I then pressed the snooze button and figured i'd open my eyes again when the Hawks started playing hockey again. I think they're back, notwithstanding the fact they forgot to show up for the last game. Hawks score 4 goals, Sharks only 2.

That was a total screwy game. Special teams galore that one. Knew as soon as Culli took the penalty in the 3rd that it was game (and Culi is not really the goat of the game..Kopecky played like shit..had to be his worst game in a Hawks jersey to be honest).
The game had that feel to it all night that it was going to be a dumb penalty that would cost one of the teams the game. Frankly the Hawks didn't deserve it anyways.
Toews was sorely missed and that was clear as day in this game. But maybe the next the Hawks can tighten up a bit more. Wasn't all piss that game some guys played very well. Seabs I thought was fantastic and was playing with loads of confidence out there. Campbell...good game.
Gotta say Skille was missed a lot too. This was his type of game. Hawks played dumb hockey on a many occasions tonight. You don't go giving teams like the Sharks that many penalties. Lucky the score wasn't higher than it was against.

Keith had a monster game which was nice to see. And, honestly, several of the penalties called on the Sharks weren't penalties. Overall, though, a bad game and very frustrating to watch after the first 10 minutes or so. We started nicely, but played badly the rest of the way...

I never heard why Skille wasn't playing. It was a healthy scratch? If so then yah that's a bad coaching move by Q. I don't mind Stalberg dressing at all thought. What's wrong with some wheels in the lineup?
Kopecky at center has to stop. Even with Toews out and in need of a center. Kopecky was horrible tonight. Down right horrible. He plays his worst when he is in that position and tonight should be a wake up call to Q to stop it.
I don't agree on the poor goalkeeping though Jim. Thought Turco was fine. Not much you can do when you are facing a zillion powerplays. Harsh to pin this game on Turco (even though that puck playing attempt in the 1st was horrible but if he had connected it 100 bucks says the Hawks score on the transition and the game would have changed iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimediatly).
And yes congrats to Eddie and Pat. My ears will bleed for another 3 years thank god.

Skille was a coaching decision per Q on the post game presser.
This game was lost in the last 70 seconds of the 1st period. The Nichol goal should be stopped 99 times out of 100. The Kopecky penalty with 13 seconds remaining in the 1st period was pure hockey stupid.

Can't blame Turco IMO. The first goal was SOFT SOFT SOFT but he made several big stops after that, other goals were not his fault.
Boys gave the game away, too many dumb penalties that easily could have been avoided. Too many lazy penalties and you'll surely lose, most of them could have been avoided by keeping their feet moving. They teach this stuff in squirt hockey, no excuse.
Kopecky penalty = LAZY, keep your stick down and if his feet were moving he wouldnt have to reach around like that.
Boynton penalty = Just fucking DUMB, might be one of the dumbest things I've seen all year. Shoots the fucking puck into the legs of a Shark then slashes his stick afterward because he is slow. Could have just dumped the puck in but no, costs his team a fucking goal.
Cullimore penalty = LAZY, wtf are you interfering with him for? Not only did he grab the guy but his feet were NOT MOVING, once again the definition of lazy hockey.

Hawks are making it hard for themselves if they plan to make the playoffs. I always thought that they would make it, so I hope they don't make me eat my words. These dumb losses need to stop. Start playing basic smart hockey.
