Does putting players on the IR free up any cap room? Also, can someone reminds me about the weird rules revolving LTIR and applying money to next year or something like that?

Not related to anything, just wondering.

Why hate on Kopecky for playing center? It's not the guys fault he does whats asked of him.

The guy is the best Hawk forward in front of the net.

He's probably second to Hossa (and not by much) in back pressuring the puck - and it wasnt just Hossa's arrival that made the whole team all of a sudden better at it. Kopecky had alot to do with that as well. It rubbed off on the rest of the team last year.

He's good in corners/on the boards.

He's a pest to other teams around the net, doesnt take bad penalties and draws some.

Has the ability/versitility to play in the top 6 - and bottom 6.

And his numbers this year...he has 34pts this year...pace for 45pts which would have been good enough for 6th on last years team - more than Versteeg, Byfuglien, Ladd

Big deal if he's friends with Hossa. Why is that a big fucking deal? If anything, thats good for a team thats up against the cap for this guy to be here for 1.2mil - and hopefully near the same next year.

I wish Hjarlmarsson, Niemi, Byfuglien or Versteeg had some better "friends" on the team and didn't demand 500% raises and play bigger roles in the dismantling of the team due to cap issues.

Did anyone else think we got robbed of a goal last night?

I clearly saw the puck in the net before it became dislodged and still do not understand how it was not noticed.

How about Kane being pulled down on that breakaway with about 2-3 minutes left. Shitty no-call. I was thinking penalty shot.

that was a clear penalty shot...pulled from behind. Why it wasn't called, because the game would be out hand if we had scored. You could tell when make up calls are called to keep the opposition in it. Thats what I believe.

IR no. LTIR Yes, but once that player is ready to return the team MUST be under the SC.

LTIR has a penalty for the following year I believe.

They officiated the game pretty well last night. Wacums Hawk games have been the best officiating all year. While that was a penalty they were letting almost everything go last night for both sides.

Also it was not a clear break away so probably NOT a penalty shot. It was holding though.

I didn't see the puck clearly. Toronto is like 50/50 so who knows what they see.

Keith had a monster game. Glad to see him back in Norris form.

Agree...he and Leddy look good together. I think Leddy is getting better every game and Keith seems to always play well vs Nash

His third of the season and fourth of his career.

Hot damn did Corey look great last night.

I continue to eat much crow over him.

Don't feel bad, dude....many have eaten lots of crow with him. I, personally, liked what I saw when he was up with the Hawks and the one game I saw in Rockford last season. But you've seen him FAR more than most of us. He may be one of those guys who rises to the level of his competition....

I was curious that the play wan't reviewed in more detail.

It looked like a good goal, but the ref didn't signal any call, which basically means no goal.

I liked Crawford over Niemi in training camp last year, its really nice to see him exceeding expectations. Even then I didn't really expect him to make such an impact coming into the year as a rookie.

Uhhh ohh don't say that... you'll start the rumors that he's being groomed to play with Keith because Seabrook and Turco are going to Buff for Miller....

The replay I saw on the waived-off goal didn't look like the puck ever crossed the line.

But Kaner's breakway should have at least been a penalty.

I don't know why I'm in a trash Vancouver day. This is a little old...but had to play it as it is one of my classics. Check out how Salo gets dissed by the 3 foot asian trainer...followed by the *** ass dance by Kessler who heads toward a teammate to hump him...I was waiting for a *** stripper in a thong to pop out behind the lockers and start dancing.

I'll admit...Craw still scares the shit out.

I hate that when he's down - he's down. He cant seem to get up at all - so its make the first save and thats it. If he commits to something, there isnt much scrambling/recovery for him at all.

With that said...absolutely kudos to him. He's worked had to get here, won the number 1 job, deserves to play in the big games and the playoffs when they get there. Hopefully Turco can play a few games here and there to be sure Craw doesnt get worn down.

The team is where they are because of Corey and major props to him.
