Stans been in on Stuart from Boston, they wanted to much. Rivet from Buffalo, Jackets picked him up before the Hawks had a chance on re entry waivers.



I'm sure he's been trying hard to find the "cheap" 5-6 man. I don't see where he has enough money for a Center and a D man but no doubt he's been on the phone all week. This team needs a Sopel type player to eat minutes and work the PK.

I think they'll try to go after Smid tomorrow, if they can without paying too much. I don't know what other cheaper 5/6 guys are available right now, honestly. Maybe they try for Radek Martinek from NYI?

I'm pretty sure Smid and Vandy were the two from Edmonton they were looking for. Vandy would be tricky because of his salary.



I think he'd fit though. Knowing quite a few of the players and the franchise. Seabrook introed Vandy to his wife and stood up in the Wedding.

I'd prefer Smid but I could live with Vandy now that Hendry looks like he's done for a while. In regards to a center that Stan says he wants, I'm gonna throw out another Edmonton player I think would look good, he only makes 800,000 this year so he'd be easy to fit into the lineup, and he's already familiar with us: Colin Fraser. I think he would fit that 3rd line perfectly and we could split Dowell/Johnson on the 4th
