Was at the game last night and had a great time. Lots of vocal Hawks fans in attendance. Great games by the first line, Hoss, Seabs and Crawford. Hoss has done more slap shots in the last two games than in the last two seasons -LOL- with a great one to end the game, though a wrister on a wide open net in the first could've been a goal and would have liked him in a little closer before shooting on his breakaway. Minor details though after a great win. It was nice to see the boys not collapse after an early 3rd period goal like in the ducks game on Saturday.

My seats had a great view and were in the row directly in front and below the Versus crew (I could hear bits & pieces of Emerick and Olczyk announcing the game)and Troy Murray and John Wiedeman were right to their left. I'm 3-0 on Hawks' road games this season and will be in Columbus on the 1st and back at the Joe on the 8th. Go Hawks!

yah MacDonald played good.

I think Wang fans might be saying the same thing about Craw also though.

Craw definitely saved our bacon last night. Both goalies had great games

Craw stopped 33 of 35 for a .943 save %

MacD stopped 38 of 41 for a .926 save %

heard Bertuzzi went to the locker room and apologized to Johnson. Bullshit...if that is a way to avoid a suspension...thats crap shit if the NHL accepts that.

If MacDonald hadn't stood on his head, the Hawks would have won this with clear numbers. Good pace from early on, a little lull and finished the game strong. Why the Hawks can't come with this sort of intensity and urgency every night, especially this late in the season with a playoff spot to be secured, is beyond me. The Jekyll & Hyde syndrome pops up again.

Hopefully they can keep improving their good back-to-back record with a win in Boston.

The Ducks, a much BIGGER and more PHYSICAL team, play a completely different game than the Wings. Maybe that's why. Not to mention Q finally changed things around and put some MEAT on the two top lines. Not to mention made sure he got JT out there without Zetterberg quite a few times.

Just a thought.

Bias aside I'd have to add Seabrook. Scored a goal and clearly saved one against. Had a couple of nice hits as well.

Hossa 7 shots

Kane 7 shots

Frolik 7 shots

3 guys 21 shots. Thats nuts!

You know what? Great point! Seabs made a gutsy play to save an almost-certain goal against the Hawks. That was a fantastic play.

This is EXACTLY what I was afraid would happen when word got out that he "apologized" to Johnson in the locker room. BS...

Is anyone really that surprised? The NHL already accepted apologies as a way of avoiding a suspension via the Chara/Pacioretty hit. If the guy is sorry and didn't mean it, the NHL thinks its OK.

This is why "intent" should have no effect on suspensions.

The whole "sorry I didn't mean it" crap is a joke. Suspend the bad hits/plays, intentional or not. What kind of sport is this? This type of inconsistency is unacceptable. At the same point, I don't think the fact that a guy is a repeat offender should even effect the NHL's decision either. Rule out the repeat offender and intent bullshit and the NHL will be much more consistent when determining suspensions. It's not hard to figure out. Set it in stone. Or if they want to penalize someone who is a repeat offender, tack on an additional 10% of a fine and take more salary from them.

5 games for head hits, 8 games for boarding, etc.. etc.. Make it clear. I don't care the amount, just using an example. Repeat offenders get an extra 10%, 20%, 30% of salary taken away, whatever they want to do. Doesn't have to be more games.

I also found out the NHL installed a new rule to avoid further suspensions by putting a chalk board in the dressing, so players like Bertuzzi would write why they are sorry for what they did during the ejection. NHL should really stand for WAJ (what a joke )

just earlier this year was the first time i've ever noticed a good number of hawks jerseys at the joe. even last year there were hardly any. five years ago i didn't see a more than a couple hawks jerseys the whole season at the place.

last night was the first hawks game at the joe i've missed in at least 10 years. maybe i should stay away.

Yeah, I was at the 1/22/11 game and there were lots of vocal folks in Hawks Jerseys. I'll be there 4/8/11, too.

This wild inconsistency has been going on pretty much the whole season. One night they look like unbeatable Stanley Cup champs and the other like amateurs. When they are on they can beat any team, so that's positive.

I agree some what. I think the inconsistency is not all on the players though.

And theyve only been blown out twice all year so saying they look amateur is a little whacked.

I'm sorry I always think elbows are intentional or easier to control. It's one thing if you hit someone at a bad angle or something. But elbows seem to be the cheapest shots to me. I thought that was for sure an intentional high hit if not an elbow. Luckily Johnson wasn't hurt. That is the problem with the NHL if they player hit doesn't get injured there is no suspension. Bertuzzi is a POS and that "apology" was garbage.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Like the result but man did the Czechoslovak line come out flat (good thing they turned it around after the 1st). There were times I seriously thought we were trying to give the game away.

Ahh well, we got the needed result. Now, let's take out Boston.

It's not as if ANA is a shit team. Theyre always one of the best second half teams. They're 11-3-1 in last 15gms - beating CHI, DET, CAL, DAL (2),NYR in that span....so not so sure the Hawks are "amatuer" losing to them 2-1 while missing 2 top 6 forwards.

Bet the outcome would have been different had Q gone witht he lines he had last night, on Saturday night.

I don't think this team has looked "amatuer" all year. I agree with you 100%. I think people have unrealistic expectations.

And again I say to the person that posted that comment to look at the FACTUAL record from January 1st. Their record is IDENTICAL from Jan 1 up to now from last year, to this.

Yeah...i do agree.

Q never should have trusted Keith vs Perry....or had Toews against that line to give up the 2 goals in the 3rd
