The sad thing is, they have guys that could of filled those roles but never panned out.
Power Forward - Brouwer or Bickell
Tough stay-at-home D-man - Hjalmarsson or Boynton
Depth at center - Probably the only area that was known to be an issue heading into the year, trading for Frolik was stupid and didn't fill any holes.
Too bad the first two didn't pan out, and the last one was a stupid attempt to fill a hole with a player who did not fit. None of those guys took a step in the right direction (although I didn't expect Bickell to be a legit Power Forward off the bat, but I definitely thought he would show flashes and maybe pick it up by the end of the year)
Disappointing, but I still believe all of them are serviceable players (Boynton gone because he just wasn't), just expected to fill roles they are not capable of filling. Of course I won't even bring up Pisani, Stalberg, Dowell and the rest of the brigade, they just have nothing the Hawks need.
